Apparently I am getting ahead of myself (yes I always tend to do this. Do not even have the bird yet )

I was looking on some other threads and have noticed an opinion that the 3100kv stock motor with 10t or 11t pinion is perfect for newbies like me

Although thinking considerably ahead, what pinion would be recommended for the EK5-0005 3900?

Have I mentioned this is a great Forum?!?!?!?!?

I would agree 3100 10 or 11t I am running a 10t on 3800 300hdx and its pretty hot will throw the heli around pretty good.

the 3900 has two sets. It goes in easy, the only slight issue is the leads coming out the front.

I dont know if those pics help or not.

yeah see thats what I didnt like, I turned mine so I could get the wires down the back of the frame then I had to open up the holes to use outer motor mount screws. also the pinion was to big to slide in the shaft hole so I opened her up a bit.

Im just a little meticulous on wiring for some odd reason.

I am still planning on flying mine naked until I get some good hovers. So for now its just about how fast can I get the heli fixed and back up and running. Its been a pretty nasty learning curve, but its been a lot of fun so far. Like I said before, I love the tinkering as much as getting it up. he he he. getting the heli up that is.

Thanks for the pics TripleB. I see your point about the leads but for Flying Naked I suppose its all good.

I am patiently waiting on Tryans Mods for the HBK2 should be a best seller

Seriously, starting a quick reference journal of all the great advice that I have gotten. I anticipate being rather anal about the wiring as well.
