Hi Grant,

Thanks for the muffler info. I'll ask Emile how he solved this little challenge and then decide which to use

I've already decided which color scheme I'm going to use. Just need to figure out which lighting set I'm going to purchase:

http://www.starwoodmodels.com/produ...002overview.php

or

http://www.rc-xlights.com/index1.html

or have one of my buddies make a special set for me

Darn, didn't know a heli could make such a big crater

Inserting the Boom

HI Guys,

Would you guys share your secrets, experiences, on inserting the boom within the fuselage? In the Pod/Boom situation, you have to force it in and tug on it to tighten the belt.. Not so easy while the mechanics are in the fuselage.. Any tips would be appreciated.. Thanks

Muffler Fitting

Started doing the final fitting that couldn't be done until now.. Cut away the side rib just enough so the muffler fit in nicely.. Hope that it's enough clearance for heat.. What say you all?

Hi Grant,
I am building the same model and appreciate following your build thread.
One question - what did you use to paint your woodwork gray?

Thanks in advance

Beautiful job on that! I am having JestRR make me a set of skids for my long ranger also. What kind of paint did you use for the blades?

Do you mean on the tail blades? It's not paint, it's vinyl strips.. The main blades are 620 SABs

BTW Thanks..

Long Ranger

I just saw this thread and thought I would Jump in. I built the unpainted version and if you look in my photo gallery you can find a couple of photos. I also built the hi skid gear. I spent countless hours on alot of different detail. I was going to try to do the front cockpit but found that there wasnt enough space to do that. I have working lights as well as the fueler set into the fuselage in the correct scale position. I had the advantage of going into work and looking at the one we fly to scribe my panel lines and placing rivets. It was a fun project most every scale detail I built from scratch. The paint has the actual aircraft paint that I got from our mechanic and its three different colors so it took 3 days to paint let cure tape of the stripes and paint again.

Stan...

Beautiful job on your LR... Love the paint job also.. With regard to the cockpit (Inst panel).. It's really nice but you can't see it very well because of the tint on the windshield and the battery/Gov almost touch it.. It was fun building it..
