You don't even need to go that far. My friend's JR 9303 2.4ghz has a 9ch 2048 resolution rx... I need to buy a $200 rx from which I'm going to use HALF the channels available just to get 2048...

I also don't understand why such a big price diference between the 607 and 608 if the only change is an additional channel... The 608 costs almost twice as much as the 607... fishy in my opinion. I would go the extra step and buy the 8ch to have 2048 but the 6014 option is bugging me specially now when I'm trying to save weight and upgrade the entire fleet... its bad enough selling a bunch of G3 rx at a big loss but it even hurts more buying a bunch of 14ch rxs when I shouldn't need to (8ch would be enough no?)

The 12FG (FUTK9276) doesn't have the external module and antenna coming out the back does it?

Yes it does... all MZ (12z, 12FGH, 14mz) radios are module based.

I totally agree. Why are we being punished on the high end with respect to small receivers? Although the 6014 isn't huge, it's too big to put in my Trex450 in my opinion. I want full resolution in all of my birds. The things that bother me about Futaba and it's support is it's poor comunication, poor product information and not coming out with a full line of full resolution receivers.

Update on the 8 channel receiver, this is good news:

Please see my edited answer to your original question. We just received word from Futaba Japan over the weekend that the R608FS does in fact do 2048 resolution when used with the TM-14 module.

As for the TM-8 module's failsafe, I will try to get a prototype to my desk to find out the information for you.

That would make this statement on Tower Hobbies website quite misleading..

In order to take full advantage of the FASST technology the FASST
R6014FS Receiver must be used with this module.

So are there any other differences between the 8 channel FASST RX and the 14 channel FASST RX if in fact they are both 2048 resolution?

Refere to answer answer regarding resolution from Futaba on RCU below.

Stein

As to your questions, the R6014FS is the only receiver that you will get 2048 resolution from with use of the TM-14 module.

The R608FS will not deliver 2048 resolution as even though the TM-14 is sending this data to it, it cannot decode this.

When you get the TM-8 module, the instructions will tell you to use the FASST Multi mode, but again, you will not get 2048 resolution from this.

Hey, tchavei,

The 6014 also has the DATA port on it ! It's on the end around the top from the word DATA on the label.

The data port is to kick XPS's arse when necessary.

Now that's a nice bit of news! I can get the eight channel receivers for the rest of my fleet!

As for using a G3 receiver in a 450, I've been doing it for a long time. It's an almost exact fit between the frame sides.
