Tandem Rotor Helis Vertol Chinook > Hirobo - what equipment do you use?

Having read all the success stories on this forum I decided to order the Vertol for myself and have just taken delivery.

I would like to capture as much information about the successful flying machines out there and have devised this template – would be great to build up consensual view of what works well for people. If it helps please 'cut and paste' the following into your reply:

-------------------------------------------------------------

Radio equipment
- transmitter (make & model)) :
- receiver (FM / PCM / 2.4Ghz) :
- cyclic servos (make & model) :
- throttle servo (make & model) :
- metal servo horns used (Y / N) :
- voltage of system (4.8v / 6.0v) :

-------------------------------------

Engine
- make and size :
- fuel (make & mixture) :
- glow plug (make & model) :
- governor used: (Y / N) :
- if so what head speed :

-------------------------------------

Pitch settings if different from manual :

Any advice on the comment “Adjust the front and rear to almost the same pitch.” – I’m presuming front to be about 1 degree higher.

Equipment Used.....

Hope this will help you out....

Radio equipment
- transmitter (make & model)) : DX 7
- receiver (FM / PCM / 2.4Ghz) : 2.4 7 channel
- cyclic servos (make & model) : 9252
- throttle servo (make & model) : 9252 ( I like everything the same
speed)
- metal servo horns used (Y / N) : no
- voltage of system (4.8v / 6.0v) : 6.0 2400mah mounted below rear
main shaft for cg (should be a touch tail heavy holding it at
the center of the mechanics down about 10 degrees)

-------------------------------------

Engine
- make and size : OS 50 non-hyper
- fuel (make & mixture) : Cool Power 15%
- glow plug (make & model) : Enya #3
- governor used: (Y / N) : no
- if so what head speed : 1350 +/-

Depending on your radio set up Fut/JR will determine the onboard settings.... seems JR likes less gyro gain then Fut, but I am sure that is just a pilot "feel" more then anything...
Yes the front is 1 degree + over the rear as stated in the manual... if you use thier set up info, it will get you very close so that you can experiment with your set up, and it will take some tinkering but it really does work... watch both heads move and consider what each has to do for each stick command and it will help you understand what needs to happen to make one of these move in the proper direction and that is what has helped me to get mine in flying form...
The original servos where JR 537 sport ball bearing and they worked, but you need a fast and accurate center... I thought that maybe the 9252's would be overkill, but not now that I have it flying.....
Best of Luck with your new "bird"... it is an amazing machine...
Stan

If there is a cure for this, please don't tell me about it!!!
