gpclassic.. Unless heli 1. and heli 2. are the newer Kyosho Caliber 30 you have seriously over spent $$ on outdated machines. Parts are no longer made for the concept or the Nexus. You may be able to buy used or new old stock parts on e-bay but how long will that last?? You just spent $1050 on 3 old heli's when you could have spent that $1000 on a RTF raptor 30, or JR 30, or a Kyosho Caliber 30 where parts are readily available. Good luck.

...................................PARTS ARE AVAILABLE.................................... ..........

Heli Hobby has a full complement of parts for these Heli's.>Heliproz also have parts for these older Helicopters, also RC Heliworks have them too, there's tons of sites with these parts, you've just got to do some research to find them......
I'm also going to use Kyosho 36 Helicopter parts on these,(A NEWER MODEL) they are the same through and through,
Worst case sinerio I could part out one to keep the others running

or even two for that matter, also could pick up one of 80 that are up for sale on another site ,for motors ,airframes Etc.CHEAP!!!! I can get another whole airframe for only $80.00......

I guess my point is that I'm getting "three" for the price of one Raptor.......

Quit being a Stiff, (no offence) but can't you be Happy for someone elses good fortune

so what if there old , I've got a 38 year old Hot rod, that every time I go to Napa auto Parts, to get a part, they too look at me like I've got three Heads, but that Never stopped me before,

I'm very resourceful, The car is Totally Rebuilt with NEW PARTS Now.

If it makes you happy that's all that matters brother!! I too know about the old cars. I have a small collection of 68, 69, and 72 442's and love them.

My very first heli was a Kyosho Nexus 30 and I loved that heli!! Wish I never sold it I didn't know kyosho was still making parts for them. My bad! Are any of the the ones you bought a Nexus?? I have some new parts left over from years ago.

Mike

OK back on the original topic!! Sorry about that everyone!

I love my B 400!!
i should have done the tail mod !

I should have listened to the advise on the tail , about 10 flights and everthing seamed ok so i thought it would be ok . well the 11th flight was not good ! went in idle up did a couple of flips then the tail started to drift , then NO tail control..... BAMMMM ! all three swash servos stripped ,blade grips busted , main shaft bent , spendel bent , flybar trashed , main gear grinded . so if you havnt fixed the weak stock tail setup DO it ! or you will be ordering parts like me . next i have to figure out why i have so much tail vibration with higher head speed allso .....
Uh... What tail mod are you talking about? All they did was move the tail link up one hole in the servo horn. That shouldn't have any impact on the servo turning to junk or the gyro quitting on you. It's a fine tuning thing.

any time you change something from STOCK to something differnt , thats considerd a modification . i changed out the tail servo ,loosend the belt , gave it more gain . what i should have said was " i wish i would have upgraded my tail servo " cause the one on the heli ( 75s ) are trash ! they will strip out, or quit on you in a second . i went hitec mg servos . i still like the 400 ,just needs a few upgrades to fly hard .

Expo

Is anyone using Expo to soften up the elev and aleron? I just dialed in aout 20% and seemed to make it a little easier/not as jumpy at midstick. It seems like some times I put in a little movement and it jumps pretty far and other times it just moves a little the expo seemed to help this a little. Looks like I have a little play in the head area.

I tried the moving the tail push rod down to the third hole on the tail servo and that seemed to help now I can do tail slide with only minor corrections during the drop. Where I live its always windy so if the tail wont hold its not worth having. How much difference does the carbon fiber tail blades make on holding power?

Im Hoping my 2 new packs come soon so I can get more flight time on this thing.

Tail Servo

Can I use a futaba 9650 on the tail with the stock gyro in ds mode?

You should be able to. I have a JR 3400G on mine and I have the 110 gyro in DS mode. Watch your servo when the system boots up. If you don't see anyting strange like the servo hitting the end point on it's own and freezing you should be fine.

You will have to choose a servo horn that puts the ball close to the spline on the servo. That servo has more stroke vs. the stock one so you could have binding issues if you have too large a horn on the servo.

GOOD LUCK!

**

Yes I have expo on my cyclic too. I use 15%, pilot preference.

...so Ron, did you have a failure with the stock tail servo on the Blade 400, and if so, after how many flights?...just wondering whether to replace mine before it happens...

No failure.

I have 2 Blade400's. One with stock servos, one set up with JR higher end servos.

I've used the stock gyro with a higher level t/r servo such as the 3400G with the gyro in DS mode. It works very well as should the 9650.

When I run the stock t/r servo I move the ball link in 1 hole. I can get more gain out of the gyro and I perfer how it feels set up that way.

Torque question...

Hi guys,

Does anyone know what torque the manufacturer of the B400 recommend for the aileron, pitch, elevator and tail servos?

I asked Futaba if they could recommend servo replacements for the B400 and the question above was what their tech support replied to me.

I guess they mean max torque? I don't know, any ideas?

Thanks

ualdrivr, stock is 17oz. A servo with at least that or greater is fine.

You may want to tell them the dimensions of the stock servos as well.
Maybe that'll prompt them to suggest something close in size.
