hi,, i have finished assembling the 550 ,turn on my radio,my bec, then i plugged in the esc and nothing,no beeps no lights anything,,, i'm running and align bec,jr 790 pcm reciever ,the gaui 50 amp esc ,2 li-mn 11.1 packs with the eltrifly deans series connector... on the gaui 50 amp esc i pulled out the red wire pin on the connector going to the reciever because i'm running and external bec(was i supposed to do this ,i thought i was)?,,any ideas why the esc is not powering up?

hi

i just got this kit and did not know much about it,, does the gaui 50 amp esc have the bec built into it? or is it separate? cause my kit did not come with a separate bec in it(thinking it is missing) and i just assumed it was built in the esc.. cause i saw a pic of a kit on trextuning and saw a bec separate..

hi

i figured it out,due to the sorta half assed instructions,, seems i'm missing the bec,was not in the kit(assumed the esc and bec were together) and also the guai 50amp esc is garbarge from the factory,it is completely dead,,what junk........

DO NOT pull the red wire.

The Gaui 50amp ESC doesn't have a built in BEC, so it reuires power from the BEC.

Likewise, if you run a Dimension Engineering SportBEC, you cannot conect the ESC to the SportBEC like the instructions show. You need to hook them to the Rx separately.

Terry's right - had the same challenges on mine, however Dimension have updated the instrictions - look at the bottom of the document.

re attach the red wire...that lead from the esc plugs into the throttle plug on your rec. the bec plug plugs into the batt plug on your reciever. then plug in your reciever batt into the bec . then turn your radio on followed by the bec... you should see leds and you should be able to move the servos... get that sorted then move on to the esc...........

The ESC is not junk but your ability to handle installations is questionable. It clearly states the ESC has no BEC. Use a seperate battery pack for the receiver and the BEC will work fine.
