If the silver is cheaper, is it also lesser quality? Weaker, heavier, more prone to damage, etc? I personally like the silver better but not if it's inferior to the black. Any thoughts?

The silver is a top Quality as Foxden can test to, as he has owned on for awhile now. The Black CF is in higher demand and thus when demand goes up so does the price, the silver just as good, same weight,same quilty just has a lower demand at this time, so the savings is passed on to our customers. hope this shed some light.

The silver carbon is not all carbonfibre it a laminate of patterned glassfibre and carbonfibre it is not as stiff as pure cf but tends to survive better in a crash as it has a bit more flex.

The silver is cheaper because RJX managed to get a large quantity of cancelled material cheap, but once it's gone, the silver and black will cost the same. Mechanically there is nothing in it.
