Anyone figure out why the microheli tail has vibe issues? I just put one on my stretched EP100 (soon to be 200) and if I run a mild headspeed its fine but if I hit it into idle up2 the tail vibrates and makes the gyro go crazy.

I thought the micro heli tail just binds. Are you sure its the microheli tail? maybe its just a bent tail shaft or unbalanced blade assembly.

Posted this at Rcgroups, maybe someone here could help?

Thanks

I just flew this afternoon, aside from the one blade grip loosening up, it was pretty uneventful.

I can't seem to get a decent rate of climb though. I move the stick full up and the heli climbs, but it certainly isn't fast. The hurricane 200 is supposed to climb pretty fast I thought. I was using the new kongpower 2s 850mah pack I got and it stayed cooler than my original fung pack. Motor was a little hot, but not scorching after doing a number of full pitch pumps.

i played with my swash pitch settings, when I increase the swash pitch %, it did seem to get better. Problem is, I'm at like +15 -15 when doing that, decreasing the pitch % just made it climb slower. So I've been setting my pitch with an align pitch gauge with some cardboard in it so it will grip the blades. is that how everyone else is setting it up? Am I just expecting too much from this thing?

I may end up trying 3s on this thing, but it seems right now, it really climbing much slower than the 2s videos I've seen.

I took apart my cnc flybar spindle and used one washer on each side insead of 2 to eliminate the bearings being able to slide back and forth. Now I got binding so I had to loosen up the screws. No binding now but its loose. No one has found a way to make this better? Its really loose, thats got to be affecting things while flying.

guys,

my heli just died in mid air, I noticed yesterday my esc reset on the ground. Has anyone ever had this happen? The heli just died half way through a flip. Catastrophic crash and just when the heli was finally working okay.

No Way, me too!

I flew on Friday at work, I was in the hangar on Friday, getting the blades tracked, tail adjusted, trimmed, etc. Went outside. The wind was almost calm. Took 1 pack really smooth in Idle Up 1. Everything was looking nicely. Second pack, did some flips, rolls, etc... Then went to do a nice smooth loop, got to the top of the loop and the motor quit on me. It got real quite! It came straight down on top of the mainshaft. Broke the blades, flybar, a link. Thats it. Luckily I had my beater canopy on so I just wiped the mud off it and its good to go.
Cause of the motor quiting, one of the motor wires pulled itself out of its connector.

I think once its fixed and flying correctly, I am going to look to trade it for a 450SE. Atleast I can get the parts locally for a 450 and not have to mailorder parts.

yea, but what is causing it to quit?, I can only think of maybe static hits or something.

I just lost the motor, I found a bad solder joint on one of the motor pins, so I'm gonna see if that fixes it. I can't understand it. I soldered those pins like 2 years ago and they have been fine ever since.

Watch out for these guys......they send small orders and the moment you place a big order you never receive it and they also do not respond to you enquiries. Ordered USD400 goods in June 2007 and to this day nothing....no e-mails..no refunds....no goods

this is my 200.

spektrum ar6100e rx
logictech 2100t gyro
futaba s3153mg tail servo
hitech hs45hb's on the swash
microheli tail

this set up has no long wires to it. they all tuck in nicely. i havn't decided on batteries yet. i'm still soaking up info on them. this build has been going well. i take my time, and listen to people that have been down this road before. it would drive some to the point of insanity to have a heli in front of them that doesn't fly, but...

anyway, if anyone has any questions on my methodologies, just give me a buzz

kongpower battery

hey rob... how is that kong power battery workin out for you? they have a 2s that is 1800 mah... i made a gyro tray and im thinkin now that i have all this battery room, it would be nice to have more flight time at 1800 mah instead of 800

its been working fine, but I haven't had too much time to fly lately. I think the 1800 would be way too big and heavy.
