e-Minicopter Joker > NEW Maxi-Joker2 finally arrived!

Finally my "new" MJ2 has arrived! BUT tail boom and tail blade were missing, fly bar was bent and I'm getting the white canopy exchanged for a yellow one. Also sent my Pletti back to Germany for inspection and no damage. Schulze fixed my damanged 40.160. Two capacitors were crushed in the crash. Looks brand new again.

Anyway has anyone built an MJ2 lately? Has anyone noticed PN# 434 (spacer mainshaft) has been replaced? (not in kit) (Drawing #6) Mine came with bearings and a mainshaft collar ring. Not really positive how it's suppose to be installed but it's been installed for now.

Drawing 1, pn#94 (self tapping screw) is no longer used on the skids. I guess it's not necessary as pn#742 (clamp) holds the skids well.

Drawing 3, pn#275 (u profile), now came with the kit. Previous kit came with two pn#753s. Not that it mattered.

Drawing 7a, pn#411 (left upper frame), looks like Minicopter has fixed the curved hole problem. I placed it side by side with my older one and the holes are exact! WOW!

BUT pn #427 (swashplate control arm) was a bit tight. So I sanded the sides down a bit for free movement.

Drawing 8B, pn# 727 (motor holder) is narrower from previous. So that makes the pletti motor plate (pn#798) also narrower. BUT the pletti motor plate that came with the kit didn't fit well. I had to grind the sides down a bit for a perfect fit.

I'm using JR 8711 cyclic servos and these are huge compared to Futabas. On my Trex600 I had to sand the servo mounts a bit bigger to fit the 8711 servos. But on the MJ2 the servos fit nicely. Just got the 611 with the new BLS251 tail servo. Can't wait to try it out.

Everything that I could assemble has been assembled (tail assembly, head (no flybar). Just waiting on the rest of the parts to come in.

Here's something to look out for...

I origianally ordered a kit three months ago. To make a long story short the entire order went missing after it was cleared from customs. The order consisted of 5 MJ2 kits and I think 8 Plettis. Anyway Canada Post is looking into the matter. ...people are suspecting that someone from the inside "acquired" the goods. So be on the lookout for MJ2 and Pletti deals popping up somewhere...

joker

good to hear you back in business again after the crash.
I also fly a maxi and i love it.Using for AP flying, but sometimes i can resist to take her out for a little gentle flying around the house.

Regarding the canadapost, i have been into something like that too.
An actro motor "went" away for me. And when you have complains, you are SO SMALL when to start to arguee with the postalsystem.
Also i know a hobbyshop here in sweden, which quite often gets ripped of from another carrier, i think its quite important to send in boxes which not is telling the things inside..

best wishes

Thanks guys!

The parts were accidentally left in the trunk of the car of the person that delivered it. The person lives 2 hours away! We've been hit hard with snow so travelling around has been difficult.

Now that is why you need a heli with long range and gps capabilities!

Hows it fly vs. the Trex 600?

Where is the Helicommand unit?

Did some flight tests and I ended up removing the 45° tail. I didn't like how it flew with it.

The Trex is definitely much more agile. It's a sports car compared to this "Cadillac" or "Limo". Maybe I'm just not use to it yet. I definitely have to fly it with more finesse... for now...

There is no HC on this yet. I'm waiting for it still.

Here she is without the 45° tail...

This white sand is gold. It is used to make our homes called igloos.

Got them from Vario.

There is a UK shop...

You'll need two part number... the skid bar and the tubes...

Skid bar 12 mm

Skid tube 12 mm black

I find these are a lot stronger and brings up the heli higher. Helps to prevent unwanted tail blade strikes when landing. They are also wider.

The tubes are very very tight fitting. You won't need screws to secure them.

You'll need to drill the holes to mount them.

You can get them from fxaero, too. Use a heat gun before you try to slide the skids in the struts. It makes it a lot easier.
