Hi,

here are some impressions of my new project. What do you think. I am grateful for any improvement suggestions.

Looks like a long run for that throttle servo to the carb. Make sure the control rod is supported to prevent flexing. Sux having the rod flex and shake the throttle. I like the four servo config and CF layout. What's your rotor diameter going to be? 2.5 meter would be nice. Something to add to the XLV experience.

Hmmm, I'd be worried about the front gear strut. Making it two parts may compromise the strength, especially with the weight of the gas engine.
Also, the clutch aligns with the gear too. There's probably not enough space for both. Tight spaces around the clutch bell isn't very friendly for servicing and inspection.

Nice CAD work. Make it so the servos can do 120 or 140 eCCPM. I don't like the 4 servo setup. Made mine 3 servo 120 but it's tough getting the servo horns and the swash link alignment.

What software are you using?

Only CHANGE you'll get is what's left in your pocket.

I use several programs, like Autocad Mechanical 2008, 3D Studio Max, Solidworks and Solid Edge.

Very nice cad work. Is this a gasser or a nitro and if it is a nitro how are you going to mount the engine like the stratus i think. I don't really like the servo arrangement although compact does not do it for me, just my opinion.

I had to cut the driveshaft about 40mm and drill a new 4mm hole into, but now it fits very well. God bless it wasnt completely hardened steel .

What kind of rotor head have you used? It's very good looking...

now that you have al the CAD stuff

Why stick to the G23RC engine. You could try the new 20cc and you can save a lot of weight and gain performance.

The G23 can also be a 29cc plus mod. That little 20cc can't compete. Even the G23 can be modded to put out more power and run smoother.

That'd be my guess...

Do you really know how much your fan/wheel weights????
Dont think so.

Its all in the power/weight ratio. Do the math, if you like.
If you shrink it down it will be a 90 ship gasser.

That little Zenoah is well down on power compared to the G230RC engine in stock form. You will still have to add flywheel, clutch and fan all in a stack just like the 231 PUH engine - no thanks

Paul.

Looks great.

Keep a close eye on your cyclic servo brackets. These gassers have a way of inducing stress cracks in thin aluminum brackets.
