The first swash driver was binding up because the arm was too short. after some carving, grinding. i modified another stock washout lever. and put a JR tail lever bushing in the end to bush the hole down to 2mm. seems to be alot smoother... chuck

V Bar installed, and set up thanks to MrMel... i did a little changing to the frames ect... modified the washout/swash driver to clear the links to the grips. just need to tie up the wiring ect... and check the pitch range in collective and cyclic. i was thinking of getting another 8717 to run on the tail that way i wouldn't need a regulator or step down, but would prob need a mongo battery for the reciever... chuck

I have tryed the JR 8717 on V-Bar tail gyro but it did not work out. The problem was smal fast tailkicking from side to side and only went away after installing a Futaba 9256. And I tryed almost every setting. The funny thing is that the 8717 work with the GY 611.
hummm. thanks i have a 8900G on it now. i'll try that out first. might end up with a 9256 then. thanks for the tip... chuck

Did you try moving the ball in on the servo horn of the 8717 for the tail. A servo with that kind of speed should have no problem controling a tail on a helicopter. I would get as close to you could to the center of the 8717 and just raise your gain to like 60 and see what happens.
Kyle
Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.
i went ahead and put the Hyperformance Tyler Bonta rotorhead on it. and changed the sensor placement around some. and i think it's closer than ever... here is a video from yesterday...
Hi Janis.. it's running a Actro 32-3 on 12s ThunderPower 5000 extreme V2's, at a 11.24:1 gear ratio,Powerjazz in gov mode at about 2000 H.S. V bar w/ the Hyperformance Tyler Bonta rotorhead. 8717 servos on the cyclics (still at 5.8 volts tho) 8900G on the tail. Radix 710 stick bangers and 105 Tails... Jamie put 4 min flight on it and the packs took 2800 mah back so next we'll up it to 4 1/2 mins.. thanks chuck
if i converted it right..12Lb 6oz.= 5.7 Kilos. we weighed it and a fuel powered synergy fully loaded with fuel and mine was a few ounces more, but pretty close... chuck
