Bergen R/C Helicopters > Bergen Gasser fan shroud for G26

Anyone know what must be done to get the fan shroud to fit the G26 engine? The cylinder is too big to get it to fit. Would appreciate any help from anyone who has mastered this problem, and was still able to keep the engine cool . Thanks much, Rick.

You can just put the shroud around the head. It will not burn or melt. It will deform to the proper shape when you run the engine. Mine is holding up great with no heat issues whatsoever. It makes for a nice snug fit where the airflow is forced to go through the fins.

Thanks, Malorie, but it's sure gonna be tight, it's about a 'hole and a half' off, it'll need forced down that much to make the holes line up!

Warm it up a little and it will slide over the head with a little force. Warm it up first, or it might split.

Rick funny you should mention that

Hey Rick,

I am working on putting my Intrepid together and came across the same thing. It is tight but just apply pressure from the top of the plastic to get it to squish down till you get all the screws seated and your home free. Then we get to watch Malorie's deforming process go to work

Thanks, all, I'll follow through with the suggestions. Much appreciated.. Seamus, we must think alike, as we both got a real fun kit to put together. Lets keep in touch.

You won't actually see it deform. It will just hold it's streched shape if you ever take it off again. Warming it up is probably a good idea to avoid cracking. Thanks for the suggestion flyboy.

I've heated it with a heat gun till it was warm to the touch, then held it into place till it cooled, and it's held the new shape , thanks all, it fits like a glove now!

Is this G26 a direct bolt on for G23?
I mean same crankcase size and mounting bolt pattern?

How about the performance ? (26 vs. 23)
De we notice the 2.2HP to 2.4HP enhancement ???

I don't rely on HP ratings much but the 26 has a TON of power.

I don't think so, other than buying a new motor. The porting in the crank case, carb, connecting rod, crank shaft, cylender, and piston are all different. Pretty much the whole motor.
