Hello all,
First of all I apologize, as I don't know all the english technical term for heli (I already have trouble in my native language).

I got a millenium 2 90 since 2 months. It flight great but I am facing an issue when starting it.

My issue is very simple, even with very low idle, the rotor is forcing to turn.
I have unmounted the engine (91sx-h) and :
- the clutch seems healthy.
- the liner seems pretty new (I tried sanding it with no effect)

If I am turning the engine without a glow plug, I am seeing a little bit of resistance in the rotor.

So I am wondering what my problem is.

I was thinking the clutch was auto aligning. Is that the case? Can this be a bearing issue?

In worst case, what's the procedure to chnage the clutch witha new one?

Regards
Antoine

Clutch Drag

Antoine

How bad is this clutch drag? The clutch on the Milli can wear out quite easily especially if there is a reasonable gap between the cluth lining and clutch bell. If the drag is not too bad then I would leave well alone since you want the gap to be small. Otherwise the best option would be to find someone with a lathe who can take a very small amount of material from the liner.

Another option would be to replace the liner with another of the correct thickness, eRCMarket do a sheet of lining material just right for the job.

Clutch drag = even with very low idle, the rotor is forcing to turn

It sounds like the clutch is "dragging" on the clutch liner in the clutch bell due to insufficient clearance between clutch and liner.

Thanks, so you confirm I shgould not worry about the alignment between the clutch and the bell?

clutch

in the beginning the clutch is rubbing against the liner, which is a normal process.
At this stage i would not worry about this case
