what version of solidworks is it ( i assume a demo version). solidworks cannot be used without paying a fee for licensing ( i know because i asked teh company about it). student ed is like 200.00 every 2 years and teh full blown version is a lot more than that (i was told 5000.00 a year licensing fee). if it is a liscensed copy how long is left on the licsense?

if it is a cracked copy and the new owner gets caught with it then solidworks will file suit. as a matter of fact they are constanly scouring ebay for used copies and when they do find them they get pulled because if the person in possesion of it did not purchase the liscencse then it is an illegal copy, a legal coupy is either a 2 year lisvense (student edition) or the full blown retailversion at 5,000.00 a year if memory serves correctly. in all honesty if you sell the lapto and it does have solidworks i would uninstall that before sale and not list it as a selling point. also it is easy for solidworks to discover if it is legit or not because it (when liscenced) goes by owner name and also checks your system specs as well

It's not a demo version or student version. It is a legal version with codes generated by PTC and Solidworks directly. I paid for the software and continue to pay maintenance to use it. It would be illegal for anyone to move this software to another computer without my and PTC or Solidworks permission.
I paid more then $7k for just solidworks and the maintenance is almost $1200 a year.

Sorry, chances are you will be using the original disks on your new system, therefore this becomes pirated, and the new owner should know that. No way to beat around the bush on this one. You are basically copying the software for another user.

anything can be bootlegged nowadays.
