TDitmore Heliman Location: Falcon, Colorado
| When I was first learning to hover I guess I was hard on the rubber dampners that connect your skidds to your main frame. As I was learning to hold my hover and set my heli down with out bouncing, I was starting to SPLIT the dampners. I finnaly got to where my hover was rock solid and I could set my Heli down soft as a feather. Of course with my wife my son watching I said The always dangerous "WATCH THIS" I lifted off my home made heli pad at the back of my land, got about six feet in the air and my training gear and skidds seperated from my new JR Venture. They just ploped down as if relesed like a bomb. Yes, I was in a state of shock not understanding what happened nor how to land with out trashing a new Heli. I tried to set it down but I was not very successful as it was demolished. My wonderful supporting wife says "Cool" and walks back to the house.
So, check your dampners often. I do......NOW! |
