shane,

did you put the tail together? if so did you possibly use too much red locktite? if so you might ged a old soldering iron and that might soften the loctite up.

I don't remember the stinger tail assy. but there might be a small set screw or possiby a retaining pin holding the shaft in

good luck,

jarrett w.

There is a set screw in the end of the tail shaft just like a raptor. It locks in the cross pin.

There is a set screw, and if was built like mine there would be 2 setscrews in there.

I am assuming that you are trying to get the tail pulley off the shaft.

Yea there is a set screw I am having problems getting it off now think I may have stripped it hope not. But I had a tight fitting allen and tryed to turn it over then it start slipping. Dang it I don't know what to do if I stripped that but maybe I didn't or can get it out like I have other stripped screws.

Use a soldering iron and apply some heat to the outside of the shaft.

yeah like i mentiond above, use a soldering iron to apply heat, and then use a standard SAE size allen wrench.

If that does not work, take a dremel with a small cut off whell and grind a slot in it and use a small flat tipped screwdriver and back it out. But make sure to use lots of heat!

If that dont work, dremel the whole thing off and start over!

That grub screw is recessed in the tail shaft, no way to cut a slot.

Well,

I am not that fimilar with the heli, but on a raptor you can just cut the shaft and throw it away. I am sure that I can find a way to cut a slot!

It's cheap enough, just to trash it! and start over,

But Shane try and use a SAE sized allen wrench and heat first!

yea, that would be less frustating to get a new shaft. The gohbee is identical to the raptor. He could also just drill it out to get the pulley off also.

Well I just tryed to drill it out after going to Jerry's and he couldn't get it out either. But we didn't try heating it up and I am lazying lol and didn't have the time so I just tried to drill it out and ended up breaking a drill bit in the end and still not getting it off. But Jerry didn't have the tail gear pulley for it so I finally gave up and went ahead and ordered a new one and got it today. I already got a new shaft and the Radix tail blades so I should get it going again soon maybe tonight.
I might get it done tonight not sure maybe not depends on how my hands feel or if they start feeling better. I think I got a bad chemical burn from work on my hands from marcic acid we clean tile with on saturday. Since my hands been burning and dry and bleading so haven't done alot but I will try.

There are times that it just is not worth it to fight with inexpensive parts. It can be faster and less expensive to just replace them, unless of course it is the challenge that intrigues you.

Hope your hands get better quick so you can get back up in the air.

I just replaced all the parts and worked on it last night I had to wear gloves but I worked on it. Today at least I can take it enough not to wear gloves with lotion and medicine on underneath. But I can't get the pin for the tail pulley all the way in. See when I got the new wheel it didn't have a hole all the way threw it just on one side but pin is long enough to go all the way through it. In my other one it goes all the way throught it but this is a red one as mine other is grey. So I drilled a hole on the other side but still can't get pin all the way through it. I am not sure is it supposed to have a pin all the way through the tail gear pulley?

The grey ones are from Gohbee, the red one is Raptor.
They are interchangeable.
If the hole is not thru just drill it thru with a 2mm or a 5/64 drill.
I never heard of either a Gohbee or a raptor tail gear that did not have the pin hole all the way through.

Well I ordered it from Gohbee's website and had to pay more for shipping then the part that sucked. But the one I got is red it was the 30-90 Tail Pulley Set, 9 Tooth from there site picture is of a grey one. I don't know why it didn't have a hole on both sides but I drilled one not sure if it is big enough of a hole should be but still can't get it in.

Yep I have the one it came with. But it is just the hole were I drilled the hole out that it won't go into and I can't get it out to drill hole again. So I am trying to figure it out and get it in I want to fly this weekend but I have to work tommorow again. I was hoping to have my Hawk Pro 30 going but still waiting on the part. I was wanting to fly with Jerry and the guys and maybe try some new stuff with your help like noise in or inverted way up. I am so ready for inverted and I know it I just don't have the guts but I would try it if I had a bud next to me to fix it before it crashes if I messed up. That is the only way I learned on planes if I wouldn't have had someone next to me I would have crashed alot and spent to much money and just gave up on it.
