Glad to know you got the blades, now get out and enjoy them.

And for everyone else, lets be clear here. I can offer anything we sell to date. Meaning I can just as easilly offer a new Solid-G as compensation as well. So I have no real restrictions within reason. The blades I sent to Furious Predator were special weighted blades to suit his style. Special weights are hard to come by, but sometimes I can get my hands on them. So I can also sometimes do special requests for this stuff. Special blades are for this only!!!!! Not for regualr orders!!!! They are VERY rare!!!!!

Hey Brian.
What do you think about this?
What version of SW you are using? Or any other types of files you can read (STEP, IGES etc)
How many engine designs you need?
All real and made with tolerances.
What is your offer?
I worked for while for RC industry and have all my files.

Cool looking engine. Looks to be a car engine, and looks real good. I am offering either a pair of main and tail blades or any one of our other items that are in stock. Meaning a new MP5, or perhaps a new Solid-G gyro etc... I am mostly looking at heli engines, but that car engine might be cool to look at and learn from as well. Just let me know which engines you have and perhaps we can work something out.

Oh, and I need the files for SW's 07 or 06 as described in the original post right now.

Thanks for looking!

if the solid works files are even older then 06' then they should still load up shouldn't they? i never never had a problem loading old files onto a new program. but vise versa is when you run into trouble. atleast for me anyways...

Hi Brian.
Thanks a lot for liking my work.
YGPM.

Edward.

BTW, I am in hobby since 1976 and have some expirience in designing engines (some of them on market now) and if you need help on something regarding engines, please let me know and I will be happy to help.

Shawn.
For my knowlodge-you are correct from old to new no problem, from new to old-will not work, but there is way around, save as STEP or IGES format and can be open in any CAD. Most of 3D CADs are able to open STEP or IGES files (ay list I have never had problem to open any STEP or IGES files)

i dont like useing STEP or IGES though, things get real ugly when that happens. its difficult to edit a model in that format.

Hi Shawn.
That is true. But sometimes we got to do what we got to do
At my work I am receiving files from different customers usualy in CATIA or ProE ( I guess you know which industries mostly using those CADs) and many times have to convert from IGES or Step to SW and do my part of work, then convert them back.

Hi Buzzin Brian,

The blades I want are for the Align 600N. You said you would set some SB's aside in a previous PM.

Thanks,

Fishbat

Here is another

actually, im still trying to figure out your techniques to how you came up with some of that ribbing detail...i would have never tried what you did, but obviously it worked. its nice to look at how other people achive the same thing. you can learn a lot looking at someone elses drawings.

Thanks

i actually only just started working on this model today. its my first day off (of both work and school in 4 months) and we are getting nailed outside with snow. i cant go anywhere, so i figure i might as well earn some more blades

I have different designs and I always try to use different ways to create ribbing future. So far I found this is one of the easiest (we have to keep in mind not only make 3D model, also it needs to be manufacturable) So I have in mind casting draft angles as well. Some comanies using gravity casting (old school), some die casting, investment casting etc. So I always need to know what will be casting procces ahead and depend of it-I use different futures to create ribs.
Ports inside is very interesting future too, as well as it is mnufacturability. So taht one is more dificult specialy if it is for die casting.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask-I will be happy to help.

yeah, i always try and keep in mind how something is going to be made. i spent a LOT of time just simply looking at all the features of my parts and determining how or what the best way of making them would be.

i know these crank cases are die cast. but as you said with the internal ports would be difficult to make...i have actually been trying to figure that one out for the past 4 years. i can tell from the surface finish that they are made during the casting process, but i havn't figured how the molds work for it. i assume that there are special plugs used to form the ports, but when the metal turns into a solid, the plugs retract allowing the part to be released from the mold...but thats just my guess. i would love to see the actual molds. they must be a work of art and worth a pretty penny.

Furious,

You should render those SW assemblies in Photoworks. The items look absolutely like you snapped a picture of them...

Try it, Photoworks doesn't take all that much finagling with to get a decent product.
