I am going to replace the 3 Volz swashplate servos on my 3DMP-E to other Mini-Digital ones, like HS-5245MG or Futaba S9650. What kind of servo would you prefer?

I am making a "converting frame" in aluminium to fit new types of servos.
Great ! I want to see that ! In this case, I would recommand the S9650 just like on my Logo 14 ! They are fast and strong . Good luck with your conversion and post pictures please!

And make more than 1 so you can sell them to us
Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that

That is my only real bicker with the 3dmp is the damn volz specific servo. I would be very interested on seeing what your finished product looks like.

So is there NO servo other than the Volz that will fit? Is it size or size/torque needs?

Only the size of the servo with the regular 3dmp-e configuration.

The older style V90 took full servos for the upper frame. All you would have to do is order a different upper frame. That way, no need to fabricate your own.

Hi Eyefly. Do you know how much "a different upper frame" cost?
Dont recall. Not an inexpensive venture though. I used to have the MP. And did just that. I actually bought the 90V and bought all of the electric parts to make it E. Best of both worlds. I than sold it to Nolongerflying.
