Anybody using the FMA packs? I was gonna get the FMA pack but then I saw the revolution packs they have a steady discharge look like a good pack. Problem is they go from 950 to 2100mah Its 36 grams heavier does the HBK have problems with this heavy of a pack I dont plan to go inverted with it just basic FF maybe a loop someday.

Also anybody got a good aluminum carry case that also fits the radio?

I'll stop short of the search comment, but I know we've had this conversation before. I'll add my more recent thinking on the subject. I have the FMA 1350 and so far it works great. Discharge rate is only 15c, compared to 18c from the 2100 or 950.

From the other threads here and on other forums, the larger batteries will work fine for hovering and ff. For 3d the lighter ones are preferred. The larger ones have the benefit of helping move the CG forward, which is very helpful for the HBK2. Note I personally only have experience with 1350 so this is paraphased from the other threads whose contributors are here and will undoubtably let me know if I've got any of that wrong.

My current thinking is this. Even though the larger batteries would be fine for my current flying style, I'm sticking with the 1350s for my next couple batteries for the following reasons:

1) Flight time is about 8 minutes with 15% left in the battery
2) My maximum concentration time is about 4 to 7 minutes depending on what I'm doing.
3) The smaller batteries charge faster, about 30 mins per.
4) If the battery is damaged in a crash or other lipo type explosion, the losses are less with the smaller, cheaper battery.
5) In the unlikely event the battery were to explode, the fireball from a smaller battery is less damaging and more easily contained in my ammo can.

I am a little confused by this...they are all REVOLUTION packs are you refering to the F or N series???

I've been flying the 2100mah batts in the HBK since day one...no problems at all..long flight times and the heli balances perfect...I use those for hovering and sport flying(patterns)

for inverted..or looping I use the 1350 mah pack....long flights(for 1350)and lighter...faster charge time

these batts are a GREAT value some of mine have 300+ cycles and are still going strong...they stay very well balanced, consistent power, and durable
....just buy one already

Sorry all I know I was bringing back a covered subject. Although I wanted to revise it for the N series packs from FMA. they are 10 grams lighter than some lipos, smaller thickness and have a much more steady discharge rate with a constant voltage throughout runtime. Where as now My megaower pack charges to over 12v and drops a couple volts through a flight.

The 2100mah N series looks like a perfect match for the HBK2 I was wondering if anyone was using it?

I believe I will be ordering one in a day or two just wanted to get some insight first.

all lipos do that....start at 12.6 V...and should end up around 11V when done(give or take),if you want them to last

These packs are supposed to be more stable in charging and runtime have you seen the curve it shows a more consistent discharge. I guess no one has the N series pack.

I think I mentioned this in another thread, but I when I was shopping it was hard to find forum comments on these batteries. Despite that, they appeared to be very good battery and a nice pairing with the Cellpro.

The 2100 is only 36 grams heavier than the 1350. With extra power of the HDX3800 (and Esky 3800kv) do wonder how much the extra weight would affect the flight characteristics. Definitly less of an issue than if you were running the Esky 3100 or 3900.

All that said, if I wanted longer flight times, that is the battery I'd get. For a long time I had planned on going that route, but started to change my mind when I started considering the reasons I mentioned above. For a more seasoned pilot, sustained concentration levels will come more easily. Perhaps some time later I'll wish for the extra few minutes. I'm impressed with my 1350 and am confident you'll be happy with the 2100. Let us know who this turns out.

Im gonna order it tomorrow its not that much more expensive it is lighter than some 2100 which others have used. I like the curve of this battery. The megapower I'm using is a great pack for $27 I'm not looking as much for longer times as the consistency the megapower has a terrible discharge curve it looses power all throughout the flight. My problem was the N series goes from 950mah to 2100mah I would of liked to have another 1350mah in the N series. I wonder why they left it out I guess the heavyweight 300 class heli market isnt too big. Ill let everyone know in a week or so what I think.

Although opinions are like "A" holes everyones got one some are just bigger than others.

Cant wait any longer gotta have a second battery 6-7 minutes is way too short now. I came back from flying and felt like I was missing something I just placed my order for the N series 2100mah.
