| I'll stop short of the search comment, but I know we've had this conversation before. I'll add my more recent thinking on the subject. I have the FMA 1350 and so far it works great. Discharge rate is only 15c, compared to 18c from the 2100 or 950.
From the other threads here and on other forums, the larger batteries will work fine for hovering and ff. For 3d the lighter ones are preferred. The larger ones have the benefit of helping move the CG forward, which is very helpful for the HBK2. Note I personally only have experience with 1350 so this is paraphased from the other threads whose contributors are here and will undoubtably let me know if I've got any of that wrong.
My current thinking is this. Even though the larger batteries would be fine for my current flying style, I'm sticking with the 1350s for my next couple batteries for the following reasons:
1) Flight time is about 8 minutes with 15% left in the battery 2) My maximum concentration time is about 4 to 7 minutes depending on what I'm doing. 3) The smaller batteries charge faster, about 30 mins per. 4) If the battery is damaged in a crash or other lipo type explosion, the losses are less with the smaller, cheaper battery. 5) In the unlikely event the battery were to explode, the fireball from a smaller battery is less damaging and more easily contained in my ammo can. |
