there was one lockout I know of that was real ugly, the guy had just put a new 8amp flightpower reg on it and we believe it crapped out, had a bit of a chicken dance at the end. well over a 1k crash.
realy felt sorry for the guy

You know, there were Spektrum pilots and Futaba pilots living together happily ALL DAY Friday and Saturday.

We are talking 9 pilots stations with lots of activity from 7 am to 7pm.

On Sunday, a young pilot flying an MA machine (sorry I don't have a name) had a NASTY crash resulting in a funky chicken and big loss.

I did hear a well known pilot ask, as we were surveying the crash, if anyone was flying Futaba (the crashed heli was using a 9000 series rx).

There were many pilots watching the flight, as this was a high powered fast flying routine. The general consensus was that the lockout came late in the flight, and came immediately after a really hard maneuver.
It COULD have been a voltage drop, causing the rx to reset.

I think that it is time for someone to do some definitive bench testing to put the Futaba/ Spektrum conflict to bed.

If it does exist, then I think the days of impound are going to be back, and be much more complicated.

We are glad you all had a great time, we sure had a great time hosting it. A big thank you to all that showed up to come play for a weekend of fun, sun, and flying. Soooo many gallons of fuel burned!! Soooo many electrons blown through huge wire leads!! It was litterally non-stop from sun up to sun down, and beyond. The flights were off the hook and just about every mfg was represented.

We love it when a plan comes together and thanks to all of you that helped keep our place clean and the flightline safe. We couldnt of asked for better guests. A lot of planning and a little bit of luck went into our event and it turned out excellent.

If you think this year was good wait until next year! We are going to become a must-go-to event.

Which heli was it that had the oops, what color was the canopy. There were a few young guys ringing the crap out of some MA's. I was there until 2'ish and if it happened i missed it or maybe it was after i had left. If it was the copper/white one i have a few pics of it. I bet he burnt quite a few gallons, everytime i looked down the flight line he was in it somewhere.

Also does anyone know who it was that took the Synergy group pic. Is it posted anywhere yet?

Fastsrt, If you have pics from the funfly I would love to see them! Not sure what Caleb's canopy looks like, I think he flew it with no canopy on.

The pic was taken by Vince from Rich Mountain Hobbies.

Out of 130ish pilots there were only 11 or 12 people on 72mhz and none of the conflicted so thefore we did not have to impound.

Thanks to all who attended, we had an awesome time hosting such great pilots.

Nah, it will be time to fly Spektrum or don't fly, they were first to the table with the technology. Just kidding, I hope this is resolved quickly.
