I see that most people are using two connectors, I made my pack into one and only use one connector, only one plug for charging as well, what can I say...just have to be different.

Not everyone has a charger that can charge 12 cells at a time. I have a Novak Millenium and a Tekin BC112A I don't believe they will do 12 cells. Besides your setup is ugly. LOL Give us a close up picture if we can stand it. Hahaha.

FYI:: I have a BC112C (same as your BC112A minus the AC current use) and supposedly you can charge up to 12 cells in a series. The only thing is that according to the manual you have to supply 24 volts to your your charger (since you have the A version) so you can do it. With the C version you can do it off AC power.

Ya I got a 20-amp power supply but it's only a 12-volt version. I never did like the AC version of the BC 112 they get to hot and limit the amps to a max charge rate of 5 amps.

Benford?

Ok Rick, you asked for it, here is a close-up of the pack and connector.
It IS kinda ugly, but it works well. There is a "strap" under the white wire that connects the two packs together electrically. The power comes from either side of the two packs to make it one. The power supply I got at a surplus store for $3.....that's my "charger". The other cable is a back-up for the field, it just plugs into my flight box.

Yeah... my bc112c does get a little warm to the touch. But it's a pretty nice charger. But 5amp limit? Maybe the older models did, but on mine I can do at least 6amps. I know I can bump it up to something higher but 6amps is a lot already. I've only tried that a few times.. most times I'm charging at 5amps for my 2400mah cells.

Well BladeRunner it's a nice setup. The main reason I went with the setup I chose is that I can quick charge. I can take my chargers to the field with me and for if some reason I need to in 15 to 20 minutes I'm back in action. Just giving you a hard time out the looks of your setup. Nice job. You do get an A+ on the servo lead wires you made up with that Chinese finger trap crap over it. I like the ends being finished off with heat shrink. Well thought out. You know I took and old connector apart last evening to make sure I was correct about it being glued. I'm right there is a drop of glue holding it together. I destroyed the connector during the autopsy but it was many years old and in the junk box.

Your correct, they have improved the 112C. They changed the power supply to a 24 volt 10 amp. That's a great improvement over the older versions.

Thanks for the kind words Rick, I knew you were just winding me up . Actually there is another post & pic about the servo connector, sluggo had the answer, there is a small clip on mine and it popped right off. Thanks for your help.

Rickc::

Hey that's good to know.

But I was wondering if you ever tried using your bc112 for tx/rx packs? I've thought about it and can't see why I couldn't since we can specify the charge amps. Plus it would be nice if I could fast charge my packs vs using the wall charger that came with my radio.

I have one of these on my Sullivan and a Hobbico.
http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bi...=1&I=LXL372&P=7
It has small 7 amp battery in it and works all day on a charge.
It straps to the sullivan with plastic straps and bolts directly to the Hobbico.

That power core sucks to be quite honest. It has a 12 volt 1.2 amp jell cell pack. It's ok for a 30 size but it wouldn't handle a .80 for very long. I had one before I converted to what I have now.

Your BC112 should charge your TX and RX just fine. Keep the amps down though to around 800 mah for fast charging.

If your unit has h28 software or higher you can safely use it also on NiMh cells. Just use the P0 setting and no trickle. You can check the version of software by first connecting it to a power supply. The version of the software will be displayed as the unit powers up.

Yeah... I had my charger upgraded awhile back ago and it has either the h30 or h31 (I forget been awhile since I've paid attention to it) software on it. Great charger. And yeah... my only complaint about it is the heat it puts off. I also hav the dis-350 attached to it and wow! Cycling batteries though that puts off tons of heat! But thanks again for the input. I was putting off buying another charger if I could help it.
