Hi,
I have just been given a Skylark EH1 the very first addition I think, It has been round my nans for years and years and I have just been given it to me and I want some info on it but I can't even find the manufacturer (Ishimasa). The heli has only been flown twice and has been sitting on top of a cuboard for 20 years!!!
Although I haven't got the box the heli is in working order except the pulley band has snapped and I would like some info on it like :-
Is it rare?
How much would it be worth (I wouldnt sell it though)?
When was it made?.....etc
Thankyou for your time.

heli

The heli is from 80 or 81 I have one I got when first out. The book says to heat the band with a match and when it starts to melt stick both ends together untill cool and trim the flashing. I have not had much luck with flying, the best I could get with 12 volt 100 amp power supply with the cord they give about 18 foot long was two feet off the ground. Responce was dead slow. The motors are not very good, I'm replacing with better ones . The directions say 2-4 degrees of pitch, a speed control would be better than the slider they give

Well at least I know something I didn't lol, I wouldn't fly it but the band has snapped in many more places now due to how old it is and me carrying it about trying to find a replacement. Well my parents said that my uncle bought it when it first came out and on some website it said they came out 1979 so I thought he got it then.....wasn't far off!
cheers for the info!

belt

Check places that sell sewing machines they have the belts that fit the helis like the Kalt and Barrons and the like. Also some of the machines used the long belt you need to fix the heli. Frabic places that sell sewing machines are a good place to start. Also check the supply houses like Granger or MSC they carry belts for machines that might be the same size

heli

I do not think that many were sold, it was about $129 for that heli when it came out at that time that was a lot for a small electric heli, and not many had good luck with it. As for what it is worth , I guess that up to how much some one wants it. I have put two new motors in , more powerful 600's and now it flys better. I'll try different motors untill I can get it to fly the best. I bet two brushless motors would really be the way to go, as for battery I'm using 8 cell 3000 nihm
