I am having trouble getting the full pitch range out of my Sceadu 50. I am only getting -7 degrees of pitch before the collective pitch lever bottoms out on the frame and the swashplate is almost touching the top to the mast lock. I cant shorten the mixing arms any more because the links are screwed all the way onto the threaded rod. I could cut the rod a little shorter but I thought I might be doing something wrong because all of the other parts have fit so well up to this point.

I am only getting +12 degrees of pitch before the stabilizer control ball link hits the top of the swashplate. If you add up my pitch range it is only 19 degrees and I know I should be getting 22.

Has anyone else had this problem? Any thoughts to what I might be doing wrong?

I do recall those linkages being a tad too long too. Check out my setup on my website, I have written down all my linkage lengths that should put you in the ballpark. I did get 22 degrees of pitch out of the head with the stock ball positions though.....

You should get 22 degrees going to the limits. I believe I got a bit more. Could be my eyes reading the pitch gage incorrectly.
Make sure you don't have the washout block reversed. Make sure you are going to the endpoints of the collective lever.
That's all I can think of off the top of my head.

If you really want to get more pitch out of her you can mount the main shaft to the main gear via the bottom hole instead of the one just above it. This also allows more pitch travel prior to any binding. Install the links to the flybar control rod to the outer hole on the mixing arms to prevent any contact on the washout. Ensure you have the pitch links from the swashplate connected to the INNER hole on the upper mixing arms to allow for more travel. With this setup you should be getting about 23 degrees of travel without binding. It's perfect for that -11 to +12 that is really required for the OS50 setups.

I hope this helps.

Actually moving it to the lower hole on the main shaft will not add any more pitch travel than having it on the top hole since the pitch lever will bind before the control arms at the washout.
Also the bottom hole is needed if you're installing the DTDS setup to the Sceadu.

The only way to get more pitch out of it is moving the balls to different location on the mixing arms.

I have the main shaft mounted on the bottom hole and there is still enough main shaft to ride in the 3rd bearing support bearing. I see what you are saying about the binding issue though -- Brain fart on my part.

Thanks

Thanks for all your input guys. I have been too busy the last 2 days to work on my helicopter (I hate it when that happens), but I am sure with a little modification of the rod lengths and by moving the mixing links to the inner hole on the upper mixing arms, I will be able to get the extra pitch I need.
