Flew my new Extreem 50 for the first time yesterday. It was just a test flight without the canopy, and there was lots of trimming and pitch and throttle curve adjusting, but even so, I'm impressed. It was supposed to be a hover and trim only, but before the flight was over, I felt so comfortable with the heli, I was up doing aerobatics. Very connected yet responsive feeling heli. IMHO, it's a keeper!

Danny,

So far, I really like the heli. Even things I thought might bother me, like the small vertical fin, are OK. Really went together nice, parts are nice, and what little I've flown it, seems really nice. The only thing I noticed was a louder than normal gear noise. Is this normal? Will it get better with use? Have you tried lubing the gears?

Steve,

Did you get the blue gear, or do you have the new Helical cut gears?

The blue gears tend to run a bit noisy.

It's the blue gear. Should I worry about the noise? In the past with new helis I have used a little silicone grease on noisy gears and it has helped...just wondering if anyone has lubed the Extreem gears.

Mine ran in and were a bit quiter after a few tanks, I'm going to change mine out to the helical gears, Phil L. is a factory team pilot from Austraila and mentioned in another post that the white helical gears were quieter and stronger than the blue gear, all the new kits are being shipped with the helical gear.

Search for the vid of Phil flying the Extreme 50, it's insane - and the auto at the end is the icing on the cake!

Flew the Xtreem again this morning, and after lubing the main gear with silicone grease, the gear noise is gone. Also spent a little more time flying it, and I must say, it is more accurate and quicker on cyclics than my Knight 3D. My Extreem is setup with stock paddles, and middle of the road head adjustments...the K3D is setup with their ultralight weight paddles. I think I like the Xtreem better.
