ECO 8Hey guys after flying for only 6 months with my old HBK2 I just (and mean within hours) got my next heli, an ECO 8. So look for me here to pick your brain and post questions and hopefully pics.
I'll start with this question or should I say questions. I want to go brushless what am I looking for kv, pinion, esc? What servos work good on this size heli? Thanks and happy flying.
A Z15A-1620 is an excellent motor, runs cool, tons of power. HeliDirect has them. $69 bucks. 15 tooth pinion gives about 1800rpm on 4S packs. 4S 4000 packs fly for 12-13 minutes. HS 85 MG are the Eco standard for cyclic. Digital would be HS 5085MG. Tail servo+Futaba 9650/401. Hope that helps.

I fly turbines and scale helis, but I still fly my 'Old style' box standard Eco 8 with no bling stuff on. It was my first love, and I mainly use it for relaxation flying and teaching my friends to auto with and keeping my own autos in good shape. I fly on stock wooden blades.........
