No one flys these anymore? I still fly mine. They really do fly nice. I was considering a Trex 500 when they come out. I think I will continue with my Eco and save the money.

ECO 8

Greybird, I'm with you....where did they all go???

I check all the sites each day and never any new ECO posts..except at
RC Groups.

I guess everyon has their ECO flying good.

I took mine out the other day after installing a new DX7 radio..hoverd it several times to tweak it out but when I flew the first flight, it lost power at altitude and hit tera firma a little harder than normal....

So far visible damage limited to tail strike and some stripped servo gears... Will get it back in the air as soon as possible.

I also flew a hurricane 550 for the first time....what a difference in power !! but batteries are a lot more expensive also.

I still love the ECO and hope there will be support parts for years to come.

If you want to color your clear canopy, just paint the inside with any plastic compatible paint...it makes it look really cool.

See mine...

Now...where are all the other ECo flyers...

Greybird,

Dont worry you are not alone

I would always choose my Eco8 over my Trex450. As they say size matters

If anybody is interested there is a Eco16 on runryders for sale for 200.00 go to electric heli classified look for balsapro. He is the person selling it. He is a good guy to deal with and trust.

Well Greybird, ther are some out there...

After rummaging around with Walkera stuff me and my brother in law both bought a second hand ECO 8. Surprisingly how cheap you can get these things. All that's missing now is a couple of gyro's and cells.

They'll be arriving this week, so we can finally get to grips with them. Will probably be needing the advice in this forum when getting them back into the air.

Hello Jim,

I recently got my Eco-16 airborne for a couple of flights too. It still has a tail/skid vibration at high headspeeds. I'm going to try a couple of different things this weekend which I hope will solve the problem. I'm running it on 5S TP Extreme and it's got some power, maybe too much for what it can handle... hehe.

Chachin. How long have you been flying RC heli's? I hope someday to whip them around like you do.

I messed up. My first heli was a Eco8 I built from the box. I never flew it. I ended up buying a blade cp pro what a mistake! I ended up selling the Eco8 to buy a Futaba 6ex. I now have been flying the honeybee king V2 for a while and love it. Now I want a bigger heli I wish I would of held onto it.

Toolman will let me fly his nitro but MMike wont?

Now we just need to hope they will continue parts support. Hopefully the Royal has enough similar parts and there are enough aftermarket parts that we can keep these flying for a while.

Then there are few out there with home lathes that can pretty much make anything needed.

Also....with all the helis out there and the "Resourcefull" people on these forums most any problem can be solved....ie parts swap from other helis, etc.

hi all i to note since i started going to forums no post for eco 8

mine has been an on and of project i have 3 in total

1 fully modded
1 jetranger just a few mods
1 part done

after getting my walker 36 to hover good i finaly gave eco 8 a go what a joy its not fully setup ie pitch ect but feels so good compared to walkera and my trex 450

lot of people pull the walker 36 down but it was because of learning on that helli gave me courage to try my eco

i at min use 10 cell batterys but have some 3 cell lippos that i use in walkera and trex they are only 3 celss 2200 ah could these be used in my eco ?

I think trying to run a single 3S 2200 pack in an Eco would be a very frustrating experience. Not much flight time, and I wouldn't expect the battery to last very many cycles at that load.

Using 2 packs in parallel should work reasonably well - you just need a "Y" lead to connect the 2 together. I used to fly my Eco-8 on a 3S 8000 pack, and got close to 30 minutes of sport flying (not 3D) with a Mega brushless motor. (I say "used to" because I haven't flown my Eco for about a year...)

Hey Jim, I never answered your question... sorry. Been flying for about 5 years now and still addicted to helis . Good to see there are still plenty of Eco-8 flyers out there.
