Tools and Field Equipment > Ripmax Prodigy Pro Peak II - Charging software fault

I have four Prodigy Pro Peak II chargers and all have the same problem. Could someone help confirm that this is a software/product fault and not just me, before I return them for refund/repair.

My chargers have the fault on the NiCd and NiMH programs. When charging these two types of battery packs the charge cycle ends before the pack are fully charged. I have fully discharged two 4.8v 1700mAh NiCd packs then put on charge. When the charge cycle finishes only 1200'ish mAh has been put in. When I cycle the packs it takes out between 1000 & 1100mAh and then on recharge it only puts back between 1200 to 1280mAh.

I don't think I am using the charger incorrectly but am open to suggestions.

Could someone do a similar test and let me know the results please.

Thank you!

I have the same chargers but never normally use them to charge NiCd's.

Gave it a go and you're right, it ends the charge cycle when only about 75% charged.

Hi Skeeter Pilot

Have you been able to get your problem solved? I have a pro-pek prodigy II and have started to experience the same problem that you had. i.e. when I put my NiMH 4600 7.2V packs through a discharge and charge cycle the charger only appears to charge to around 1200 mAH into each pack.

Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated.

Thanks
