| Yea you could call building a heli from scratch an " engineering project" to put it mildly. Its taken a lot of engineers over 30 yrs to perfect the models we have today, there are an awful lot of gives and takes in the gearing, balancing, and distances between components in the head and tail areas. Ill give ya credit for the attempt tho as you can buy a working heli kit for around $200, if your REALLY serious then I strongly suggest you get a kit, build it, fly it, THEN attempt a scratch heli after some experience with one that works and works well. You will also need a full machine shop, tons of cash, and a plastic injection molding machine along with a few machinests wouldnt hurt either. Safety is gonna be your biggest issue................what metals are you going to employ in what areas? etc............Not trying to burst your bubble just the honest truth................... |
