hmmm, I would like to see someone create a compare excel spreadsheet simular to what Ricks has for helis and compare what the Xtreme, Trex Pro and name your pick has to offer.

My bet would be the Xtreme adds more value and bang for the buck. The features in the adjustable head alone are worth the investmenet if you ask me.

How may heli's out there have this feature minus the Avant adjustable Head.

Guys, we can fight over apples and oranges but why bash a good thing.

If you ask me it's not worth the fight, just enjoy life and what model(s) you like fly'n. . . . but if you are looking for the value and bang for the buck then com'on in and enjoy what more and more people are starting to respect and admire.

Myself I have flown many of the 50 size models out there except for the Knight series and i'm looking forward to building my Xtreme 50 w/carbon boom . . "com'on YS50 . .

I have flown a Trex 600 CF and Trex SE for well over 200+ flights each without any crashes and I really enjoyed both helis'during the time spent . .. I have nothing but good things to say about the align kits minus that 600XL . . . .

Over all now i have a chance to try something new and i'm pretty excited about this kit . . Look at the "standard' features for just a fraction more than a Trex 600N . . Upgrading the Trex 600 Series heli's head to full metal cost more than what RJX is asking for this kit. (and if you really think about it at least 60% of the people that buy a Trex 600 series heli make the investments for 'all" or most of the bling.

Just my 2cents. .

What the Xtreme 50 is pricey!!!

What about

SCEADU EVO 50 EX SWM
Price: $1,325.00

SCEADU EVO 50 EX HPM
Price: $1,400.00

If you want quality some time you have to pay for it. These are very nice helis.

699 for the xtreme or any heli of its kind is not bad. Go buy a 90 kit and then buy the needed motor and servo's oh and then the blades. Then do the same for the xtreme or any other heli of its kind.

Hmmmmm think you will spend more finishing off the 90 than the 50 size machine.

You are on the wrong fourm. I think your looking for the Nascar fourm? Why would anyone here care if race cars run a straight gear...yeah, yeah I know your trying to say there is something wrong with the Xtreme gearing.... Sorry there isn't! Works great ,flys great, looks great and if a 90 is what you want to fly go enjoy your 90. Why come onto a thread that everyone here is trying to enjoy a helicopter design and knock it.
Eveyone can fly what they want, as you to can so buy and fly what you want and leave the Xtreme out. See? that was easy. Now you don't have to worry about the Xtremes gearing. Enjoy your 90.

It's kind of weird why Xtreme3D will come into the rjx threads and pass poor comments about it.

If the heli is not to your likings, just fly something else, it's perfectly alrite, but why pass negative comments repeatedly in the specific forum.

Since you would prefer straight cut gears, there's always the straight cut gears available.

A racing car isn't exactly the heaviest the vehicle on the road, they would rather get the transmission efficiency of straight cut gears for that fraction more speed, however they would strip much easily if slammed improperly. you hear about racers blowing their transmission, etc. it's all part and parcel of their hobby.

Extreme 3D

The straight gears in racing are used because the synchronisation is faster witch will result in faster shifting, verrrry important in racing!!

The win of the horsepower will be 0,0..., so you will not notice this on a heli.

they make more noise!

Yes, they are normally stronger for racing mainly because they take the force directly on the whole tooth at once, when speed shifting is done. (they will survive longer the speed shifting)
On the heli: no shifting is done!!

They give no axial forces, but this does not matter on the heli!

But the degrees of the tooth on this helical gear is reduced and the totall will be a stronger gear.

There will be other pro's and con's but these are the one's I know.

Why did Align come with the helicall gears on the TRexE?

Just my 2 cents.

btw: In Belgium price of TRex N and X-treme are the same so I don't have to think twice on what to buy. (500 Euro - 740 US dollar)
If you upgrade a TRex to this level, then you will pay at least 700 Euro's (1040 US dollar)

yes I have a X-treme,
yes I did have a TRexN
and still have a TRexE

I'm the owner of an X-Treme with helical gear. Before I've been flown this gear I've tried the original straight gear.

The helical gear isn't as loud as the straight one. No probs with the helical gear.

PS. In germany is the price for one X-treme G10 Kit 485€ (aprox. 720 US Dollar). We have also a great service with that. What kind of service do you have with a Align heli?

Same here,

I've got 2 Trex Nitro Pro and one Xtreme50 and value for the money the Xtreme wins hands down.

In Spain it is slightly cheaper than the Pro and service is excellent so I guess it´s going to be seen a lot in the flying fields.

Cheers

whats the all up flying weight of the xtreme 50?
gears just dont strip for no reason imo.
if gears strip something else is probably wrong.
when you have them on the phone ordering the kit ask for both type of gearset.

What!

I have no problem paying the price for this heli. No kit compares in my opinion.
Also anyone know the price on replacement g10 frames for the Extreme. Thanks

Hi Guys,

The white helical main gears are far superior interms of strength compared to the blue straight cut gears.

From memory my CF version is 3.25kg without fuel.

cheers

Sebastian Z.,

How well does the YS50 Preform with the RJX Pipe and the gear radio?

I've only used the ryx pipe on the yamada so I can hardly make a good answer. But I think that the RJX Pipe is a little bit louder than the Hatori 522. The power of mine engine is bigger as the power of the OS 50 SX Hyper with MP which is used by some friends.

The engine is usual in well temp. areas.

I hope you can understand my english.

I have a small question.
Did this heli just come out? Does the engine fan have pre-drilled holes for the ues of a governor, and is there a torque tube conversion for this heli?

Thanks

Yup the fan already has a mounting hole for gov magnets.

No torque tube at this point of time for the X-50
