hi fiveoboy01
thanks for clarifying that you own one , first time i read your post i thought you were just bashing the MX from the Trex forum

sorry to hear you were not happy with it , i bought one of the first model Trex's out , and was disappointed too , it's been a few years but they are now the standard by which other small electrics are judged , and i am glad they hung in there

when i got my MX i wasn't expecting much and thought it would be interesting to see what they were like , so as cheap as it was , i have to say i really like it , but that is for what it is , would i like a Trex 450 SE V2 , yes , would i like it more than my MX , yes again

i'm just a sport pilot ( read that , not very good ) so i don't really need that hottest machine out there , i still have a lot to learn and the MX can get me there , i am hoping for the day it is no longer good enough , but i probably won't live that long

best regards , dana

I'm not saying it's a bad machine, I still have it and might get it going again. I just had a lot of headaches with it, a few were due to my inexperience but several were design issues. I just wouldn't buy another.

hi
thanks , believe me i hear you , there are few things i would like to see different , and the quality is not as good as some other makes , i do some machining and i know all CNC is not created equal , alot of the heli makers are very similar and till you see some of the junk , or some of the really high end stuff , you might think they are all the same
i know with most of the stuff comming out of China , like this machine , they might have two or more factories putting out the same product , or start with one factory and either switch after a while or add more factories , and it is a real turkey shoot with what you get , i had a gasser i bought , i wont mention the company , it was all CNC , but the metal was so soft the washout arms would bend when you tightened the screw for the balllinks i think the term i've heard is P.O.S , on the other hand i bought a second hand min air with a stratus head , and night and day you had to see the CNC work on it , all hard coat anodized and the quality through the roof
i know as my skills improve i will get a REX SE , it will be wasted on me , but i still know i will get one , and i can see this MX getting trashed first , i will bet it has a better chance of being from dumb thumbs than mechanical failure , dana

MX 400 pro now at Tower for $99. Comes with motor and ESC. Does this Heli fly well? Don't want to buy a Trex, however will the Trex parts fit this Heli?

gear

T Rex land gear mounts from underneath, whereas the MX 400 braces mount from side holes. Main gears are different teeth also.

So from what I'm reading, the MX 450 is a pretty good buy.
