It would be nice to just hover the cursor over the flashing PM link to see the name of the person who sent you the PM.

Simple idea, not to sure how simple to implement.

Doing this would defeat the nature of visual feedback. You would never know when the second PM arrives.

I meant as a popup like when you hover over a persons name to see their location.

I guess i don't understand what you are saying. Do you mean the software won't let you do both at the same time, or is there another feature of the flashing PM link, other than to simply let you know you have a new PM, that i'm not aware of?

I am saying just (ctrl-)click the flashing PM link. That turns off the flashing so in the future you can tell if you receive another new PM.

For multiple new PM's how many names would be displayed?

Well it could just always show the name of the last person to send you a PM. It wouldn't even have to be flashing, it could just always show the last person. But you're the boss, if you don't like it or don't think it will work then thats that. Just an idea.

You know who sent you a Pm via email...but its just easier to just click on the icon then backspace to go back to previous page.

Since we are in the subject...

What I would like to see "back" is when I open a photo from any gallery, it now has a previous and next button which is practically new this summer (neat-o)

but in the beginning there was a [RR] button to close the window in between those two. Now there is a add photo to catch.

What prompted the idea was i got a few PMs while replying to a topic or editing a post. Now we all know when you're doin that, anything you click opens a new window. It would just be nice to know who sent the PM without clicking anything.

I don't understand your logic in wanting to know "who" has sent you a PM...... you still have to read the content anyway.....

Ok, i was thinking about this and realized i still think it's a good idea...

So most people have phones, and most of those have Caller ID. Well the flashing PM is like the phone ringing, and hovering over to see who sent the PM is like Caller ID. Knowing who sent the PM will help you decide to "Answer" or continue what you were doing and deal with the PM later.

So if most people have and like caller ID, then why doesn't anyone like this idea?

lol...

heres an easy option...

"just" open a second RR window, which for you would be your arch nemesis...the PM.

SHIFT-TAB switches between open windows. F5 refreshes it.

To me its much quicker than hunting for the mouse and hovering a cursor around...who uses a mouse anyways? Shortcuts works for me.
