| Now, if 30% gets you more power at the same temp? Does it imply that it runs cooler?

Basically , the only reason that you can get lower temps with high nitro is that you can run the engine richer while still producing good power and still have decent throttle response . However , if you peak the engine out to its maximum it will produce more power and more heat , which brings us back to the above question . If you change from 15% nitro to 30% , but richen the engine up so that it is only producing the same power as it was on 15% , then it will run cooler .
I only run 10% nitro and I remove the headshims on my OS engines to compensate a bit , from various tests that I have carried out , removing the shim seems to give equivalent power to at least another 10% nitro .
At the end of the day , it gets dark . |
