CenturyUK's Neon Blaze

Hey All,

The Neon Blaze is imported and sold by CenturyUK only, it is not a Century model as such.

I have not seen or flown one but it looks good from the pictures and spares are competitive I think to, which is an importnant point.

So far I have two of their new models to play with, a GL450SE and a Nitro Kestrel.

Pictures of both in my gallery.

Needless to say I'm having a ball with these small machines, the Kestrels included transmitter is surprising with 8 model memories, 5 point pitch/throttle curves etc.

Ah, that is what I figured. It is not a product manufactured by Century Helicopter Products of the USA.

This could become confusing like the true Quick helis (from Japan) whose brand name became adopted in the USA by Irwin Siner with his QWW (Quick World Wide product) and Quick UK, neither being product from the original Japanese manufacturer.

I think Century UK should make it clear that these are NOT real CENTURY products.

IMHO, Century UK should use the name of the manufacturer from which they import these items.

Hi Guy's

the Mini 47g, Mosquito,Neon Blaze,GL450 and Nitro Kestrel are all marketed by Century UK ltd. This is clearly stated on the box and these models are all available in stock from us.

Century UK ltd is an independant company from the USA operating throughout Europe.

centuryuk.com 2008 Catalogue out now !

we have felt as a company very let down by Century USA over the finnishing and non development of the Hummingbird range so I Mark Tilbury started trying to develop a replacement. With over 25 Years of model helicopter experience i have put this into good use with various Chinese manufactures and developed a line of models that fill the gap that Century USA do not seem to think is there.

we still represent the full Century USA line up in the UK with full spares and expert back up.

i do not normally post but hope this helps.

thanks

Mark Tilbury.

helicopter1968. One of my mates has been flying a Neon Blaze at our club field for the past couple of weeks and it looks really sweet. Handles the wind far better than the Hummingbirds used to Was offered a flight but he like most flys Mode 2 and I am Mode 1 (yes oldfart I really am that old!!). As far as I have seen it makes a great intro heli with good performance for flying in a sports hall or outside on reasonable days.

Like Coolice I have also got a GL450 and this is a fantastic machine. Very stable yet also very agile. I have seen one do full 3D in totally stock set-up, alas with me flying mine doesen't.

CenturyUK's Neon Blaze

Hey,

I just got my Neon Blaze today, looks really good in the setup supplied and for the money. Even the supplied balance charger is good.

I have not yet flown the machine, indoor on Friday and so I will let you know as soon as I have got some flights under my belt.

I was wondering who was behind the better designed Bird, Why Century doesn't give you guys the contract for design and such? as it looks like your doing a bang up job!

CenturyUK's Neon Blaze

Hey helicopter1968,

Yes I have mate and I think it's great!
Last night I managed to have a couple of flights with it, only limited stuff for now until I am fully confident in how it behaves upside down to try more indoors. The hall we use at present is a little small for to much, although check out the GL450SE vid of what can be done if your confident in small spaces

Here is the Neon Blaze video of last night :

http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=3qimnKsXIDU

Only thing I have noticed so far is the cyclic is a little too responsive out of the box for true beginners in my opinion & I comment on this in the video. Having said that as long as you know about it thus ready for it and control the amount of cyclic you use it's fine.
I did notice the paddles are fitted in the rearward hole, which I think will make them lively, I will have to try in the forward mounting position.

Other than that it's an awesome machine for the money I feel and ideal for indoor and out. It flies well, sits in the air nice and gives good duration from the supplied 1350mah pack (I think it's that mah from memory). The supplied balance charger works well to and has given me another charger for use at the end of the nights flying to recharge all my packs again

At the same time I also got my trusty photgrapher to follow the GL450 about as well.
Here is the Century GL450SE video for your viewing to :

http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=uU7AYKx-7RQ

Notice I keep it low to make sure I have enough height above me
Have been a little close in the past

I love this machine, it's such fun to fly and feels larger than what it is. Again a little too big for this hall if I am honest but otherwise great to zip about.

Could that model possibly be the same as this one sold by Tower Hobbies in the USA:

http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bi...p?&I=LXPJK9&P=0

Willie

There are numerous such offerings, by a number of sources in the US and Canada....maybe Century USA has reasons for not bothering to get into that flustercluck.

Heck, even big names like Align, are now distributed from so many different sources, that many good legitimate retailers, who have bought from one at a particular price, quickly find that they cannot sell at the margins they anticipated because others, who bought from another source (possibly a grey market one), at a lower price, has to quickly drop his prices and forfeit any anticipated monetary gain.

The market in the UK can well be a more closed one then those over here in North America, which would make for a very different playing field.

No, different model. Like the hummingbird it has motor driven tail and has brushed motor. Only really flown mine outside (same club as Silvashadow)and so far have had great fun with it. It is lively on cyclic as coolice (hello Ian) has said, so I have moved my flybar to the forward hole which has helped.
I dont know if the market here is more open or closed than elsewhere. It seems to be market led, but at a premium. Things tend to cost alot more. ho hum.
