Who has the Rotortechs in the UK. Century don't seem to have them in stock. Come to mention it I don't see the K&S or Hirobo listed by any of the big retailers either!

Steve,

I was referring to the old K&S 1143s. I don't know what blades Mr Ito was using, but they look like bog standard JR glass blades to me. To confuse the issue somewhat Funkey also makes blades for K&S as well.

fergus,

any shop should be able to order the blades from Century UK.

The blades he was using in Spain were Carbon K&S blades, this year in Poland they were the same blade but Glass.....

Put the RT720 on my Vibe 90 and she flies very well.

Hoevering is stable and response is good.
Tracking in aerobatics is also impressive.

Thumbs up

Ben,

Has anyone called Scott to ask him what's different? They do have his name on them...

I'm about 99.9% sure they are the same, including the average weights. Just prettier......

This is important for me to know as well. Having only two sets of my older wide chord 710 Vblade II's left(The ones where they went to foam trailing, hardwood leading for a bit) , I am looking at the RT 720 std and SG sets. The reports of how Erich feels about them is very enticing. Although my common sense tells me you may be 100% correct.

But I am, like you, wondering what the differences may be. Just want my money to go where it counts, and will probably get both sets and measure, weigh, and see what happens.

If you've been flying V blades and are going to compete, going to RT's will be a totally different experience. Much of the ideal design criteria for a 3D blade, auto ability aside, is everything we doN'T want in a contest/FAI blade.

Thank you, I do understand.
I do understand the differences. My older Vblade II's actually were quite fine for me. For some reason these played in the air quite differently for me. Maybe a heavier set, at the time I ordered them direct from Vic and told him for what flying. Maybe Of course, not good enough for what I plan for now. But the older Vblade IIs I have, were a tad heavier and a wider chord. If I get to see you at one of the events this year, I will bring them with me, so you can see what I mean. I did well with those for a couple of years, but like you said, I do need a specific blade and work with it after these. Which is the question. I think I will try a std RT 720 set, see what they can do for me. I am still interested to know the differences though
between the std 720 and the Scott Grey versions as stated above.

Also, I need to check some other brand FAI blades, to match me, thats where the work for me starts.

The standard Rotortech's are lighter than the SG's from my knowledge at around 190g for the standard stuff and 210~215g for the F3C SG's. The 710 3D SG's are obviously light 3D blades again, mine weigh 180grams. However all that said Carbontech makes a 720 F3C blade that's available here by us in ZA, the Rotortech's are made by Carbontech/Fun-key and guess what these Carbontechs look exactly the same as the Rotortechs, weigh the same also...their just not painted or have any stickers coming with em.

Bump !

I have just tried a set of Std RT720's and am well impressed with them

195gms on the scales. Take a bit of getting used to in the auto as you can just float it in real slow and the blades are turning a lot slower at the bottom, but still have plenty of reserve for the landing Very good in the aero's as well

I too would love to hear from someone who has tried the Std RT720's to the SG 720's, and wether the 30gms weight difference is noticably better, or not.
