Why on earth would Realflight change the position of the throttle hold switch? Or even dumber, not allow for easy repositioning if they think it a good idea to switch it??? Besides, how on earth do they expect you to rotate a knob that is top mounted??

Boy, what a dissapointment!

MS flight sim 2004 for less than $30 has better water features than anything else out there...go figure.

As stated...not worth the upgrade.

MSFS 2004 was the last straw for me. After that one. I decided to never buy MS FS again. What a waste of Money that one was.

Ever tried to Auto the R22 in FS9. (Wow. two helicopters )

For less than $30 you still need a controller,
Go figure.

I was really comparing the prices of software.

In the RC world everything cost more JUST because its related to the hobby.

Example...IF the A123 batteries would have been made exclusively for RC...dewalt would not be selling them for 100

go figure again.

they have not changed the Physics.

There is a Heli by CollectiveDT is not put together the same as the rest on the swaps. Check it out.

The G3 and 3.5 physics are dam good. it just how you put them to work. To many planes and heli are put up in a straight standard construction.

If you spend some time on them you can get them to a Top notch standard.

Bryce.

Yes I know of that 450V2.

Its the best flying heli on G3.5....period.

Hmm that sucks on the physics!

Im still going to have to try G4 out before I decide what to by, as my G3.5 is still serving me wonderfully.

Personally, I think the heli physics in 3.0 are better than what they are in 3.5.

It would depend on which version of 3.0 but I would agree to some extent. I have never downloaded 3.5 because I felt my G3 version was close enough. I'm forgetting which version I'm running. I know that I upgraded to another version, didn't like it and reverted back to what I'm currently using.

Personally, I only care to pickup G4 because I've been a long time RealFlight. I also own every other sim that is on the market (excpet for FSone). G2 was my first sim and I was in love with it. It esentially taught me how to fly helicopters.

I am going to pickup G4 for the graphics upgrade, menu upgrade and the cool water feature. I am a little bummed about the new controller but I'm sure RealFlight will have a fix for this soon.

You are right, not all versions of G3 were alike. Seemed the further you went in the series the worse things felt. (Again, in my opinion only.)

No plans to go to G4 here. While I loved G2 (it too taught me to fly) and really enjoyed G3, I've been disappointed with Real Flight's latest releases. If there was a physics improvement in G4 to go along with all the eye candy I'd consider it.

didn't bother me how things changed (If they ever did) from version to version. I just adapted.

It was hilarious to see people complain about changes , and quite often in the end, there were none.

Be specific about the changes. don't just say it changed for the worse. what exactly changed. (If you can not nail it, then chances are it dosn't matter)

I'll certainly post my thoughts after having the chance to compare G4 to my current G3 version (I'll post it at that time)

I've aleardy picked up G4 (waiting on Tower) and I'm near finshed with the PC build required to operate G4 effciently. It was time for an upgrade anyhow. I am planning to run a 27" monitor at 1920x1200 so I should be set graphically. This may or may not require dual GPU's but I guess I'll find out.

Where's a good U.S. store to buy Phoenix?

Can you pay online and get a download version?

Thanks

You can order Phoenix directly from their site (www.phoenix-sim.com/purchase.htm) - most people seem to get it very quickly.

Not sure what's going on with their US distributor, but as they also distribute Realflight perhaps G4 has something to do with it...

WHITEHOUSE HELI;
The more people that buy G4 will prompt the company to push out 4.5 faster. Stay away.
what is wrong with the prospect of G4.5

G3.5 was a free upgrade to G3 owners !

Get over it. You have G3 or G3.5 and that's enough. If you want G4 then go for it

Not realy a fair comparison I say.

yeah your right...MS teaches you to fly the real deal with instrumentation, turbulence, on water, fly ANYWHERE in the world in real time, interact with the control tower and so on.

so yes...not a fair comparison.

I was indirectly complaining of the high price as mentioned...but we are willing to pay for it in the end....unfortunately.

If you want a real Flight sim. get X-Planes
if you want Eye candy and botched Airplane and Aerplanehelitype Physics, then MSFS is the deal.

The comparison is for MSFS and G4.
MSFS is not a complete package, just the software, you will need some sort of controller to use it properly. there is a complete market of products that can be used with MSFS. including Software add ons (Which you have to pay for) Yes there are a few good heli websites where you can download heli and some Airplane sites to.

BUT. You will not be able to practice Autorotation. nor will you be able to do the same in an Airplane. Quite often MSFS get buged when you try Gyro maneuvers or anything outside the norm.

MSFS is a waste of money. So what if you feel like you are landing in another country. How is that Applicable to a RC sim

want to do a fair comparison.
Compare G4 which comes with a Controller with another RC simulator that comes with a controller.

PS. How much is FSX and how much was it when it was first released ?

that's our choice. we will benefit from it as it is to help our hobby. Its not like you can use MSFS to to help your full scale Aerobatic routine in real life
