I see this guy in the video pushing by hand this small electric drone and it always bounces back to near it original position. Up, down, sideways, backwards, how does it know where it's spatial position was to return to ??? . Gyros would do for head holding lock, but not vertical and horizontal position.

In the video, it says that it has GPS position hold. That is how it returns to where it was.

GPS can be pretty accurate when using the right equipment, and sonic altimeters can sense within a fraction of an inch. IMUs (Inertial Measurement Units) are also used sense and correct for position excursions.

I do know that differential GPS can be accurate to millimeters. That would certainly work. As for the height, I realized I can buy an sonic/optical tape measure which may work for that low altitude shown in the video.
Still, I was impressed since I can't hold my chopper that steady. But if I didn't have the challenge it would not be fun.

Thanks guys..
Paul
