Robbe Cuatro - Millennium - Nova - Dyna-X > Problem fitting s4814 in Millenium II head

Hello evryone,

I bought a variable flybar system (s4814) for my Mill II to have more atv. But when i try to fit this part in the head, i can't get it through the head.
What am i doing wrong??? I already tried to heat the head and freeze that black piece but still it doesn't fit the head. The two big squares of that flybar piece block when i try to get it through the head. Anyone also had this problem?

Regards,
Fréderic

It´s a tight fit, but it should go through!
Try tapping it with a screwdriver handle or something

Hi
thx for the reply but it doesn't work. I post a few more pics to make the problem clear. I don't know if it's possible that there has been a construction fault in that variableflybar. I already tried with other heads so it's definitly that flybar that is to big.

Hi

Just try tapping it with a soft hammer or something,it will go
through. You may have to use some force but it will go there.

I had the same problem ,when i was assembling my cuatro.
But i did get it there by tapping it

If it's a little tight on the std Robbe hub
it's because i think it catches the inside edges of the flybar carrier bearings in the rotorhub ,because the outer edges of the flybar carrier is maybe a little wider than the centre piece.
All you do is unscrew the two screws that retain the bearings in the hub,
then tap it through. It should go, unless the bearings have been put in with a liquid cyano grade of threadlock:-)
Then just tighten the bearing retaining screws back down haveing
appled threadlock to the bearing outer faces and screws if necessary.

haveing looked at your photo's though,it looks tight in the other (vertical direction). If you have to ease the hub first a little with a file ,i don't think it'll take any harm.Apparantly they usually snap with aggresive flying at the hub below that point at the shoulder where they fix onto the mainshaft

Hi,

I haven't placed those bearings in the head so that can't be the problem. Maybe i will use the file-trick. It's strange that i'm the first one having this problem. But will the head not be unbalanced when i file it?

I put that flybar carrier on all my robbe models, SE, Nova, Mille III, second SE, with no problems at all, look to see if maybe the milling of the head left some flash or something, Ron

Please cancel my clearance, I have the field in sight.

The total weight of the small amount of filed alloy material you might need to remove will weigh next to nothing and is too close to the centre of rotation of the main shaft to be noticable. But try to do it roughly equal both sides and you should be ok.It shouldn't need much looking at the photo

Just wondering if the headblock has got bent there in a crash
