| I too have just fitted my AP2000i to my Hirobo Freya and initially I had a number of problems but all were sorted out by talking to Mark Webber at Webber Aerial Imaging. I found most of my problems were due to my set up and calibration and not the AP 2000i.
Did you recal in between each of your flights?? I found the way I had my unit set up on my radio I had to recal every time before I went to on and back again. This can cause you a problem especially if you switch it on and off in the air more than once.
Now I have the on off function set on a 3 way switch on the radio with center being off, up being CAL and down being on. this way I can cal on the ground with the heli level then I can switch it on and off in the air without going through the CAL.
Another thing I learn t was that too much gain is not good to start with, I started with 20% and increased to 40% as I slowly am getting used to how it operates.
I also do a check on the ground before each lift off, meaning to say I spool up then flick the switch to on and see if there is any major movement of the swash plate before I fly this way I know it wont do any thing really drastic in the air once airborne.
Finally you can adjust the setting in the AP 2000i below is what I got from Mark Webber,
"Lastly, you may want to increase the GrtI % in your AP2000i menu. It is default at 2%. Maybe move this to 4%. What this does is slow down the response of the gain when you flip the switch. Slowing it down will make the heli react less quickly when you flip that switch giving you more time for recovery should anything be wrong".
I am still learning this as well but I hope my experiences can help you. Finally I when I first tried to use the AP2000i I actually got my friend to operate the on /off switch on my radio that operated the AP whilst I flew the heli this way if it looked like anything going wrong I was ready to make adjustments and he could quickly switch it off. |
