Just want to interject here a heli stand ?? at my field we have stands, there really designed for planks to hold the wings. A table would do better for heli so u can swing the rotors around. I dont have a pic but I try to explain it to u so figure a 4'long x 2'wide surface on 4 legs. 2 front legs are 5'high and rear are 3 foot high the back leg stop at surface then 2 front legs extend 2' higher then surface. to hold the planks wing. on front of the 2 front legs we hang hooks for radio to hang from and thats about it. but with heli its hard to swing the rotor with the to front legs. their great for starting planks though.

in rc heli mag there was a pic of the stand i was refering to. it was 5 maybe 6 month ago. the stands work with helis but just shorten front legs to 5" above surface so u can swing rotors

Hhhmmm, "Heli Field Stands", a rather broad fraze!!! Anyway look at these:

For "Heli use, one would add the flat upper shelf...Of course, the same can be used for planks, by removing the upper shelf and putting on the bracket type holders... Good part is that these are light and portable.

That stand looks pretty damn nice. I like the skid clamps and turntable idea. I might make one out of a wooden stool to save a little time on fabrication. I think I'll add a magnetic parts bowl from Harbor Freight and a rack for metric Allen drivers.

Good idea, thanks.

That turn table would have probably saved my Airwolf today-gyro reversed (I think).
