Hey, Ken, 3 options and of those 2 are somewhat negative. Result therefore not too surprising!

So you are saying that the pilots that fly in the world have sponsors and that is not enough. That we should also help the sponsored pilots to go to the world.

I support these heli flyer to go to the world but do I have to do that with money too.

I would like to know the answer from volkul.

Well.....

Many teams get some support from sponsors but most do not. The US team gets some travel support from AMA but the vast majority comes from fund raising like the F3C USA raffle as advertised on Ron Lund's site (and others). I compete to make the Team and support the guys that do make it with my best wishes and some of my dollars and I wish I could afford more. Sponsor support is nowhere near enough to send a team anywhere. From memory, I believe the UK team paid their own transportation to Muncie. I could be wrong but that's what I remember.

Gordie,
I do think everyone here would donate to the world but the way this poll was done is to make pilots maid. There should had be more options like what you are saying. Who can afford to donate to the world and has and who can not donate and support are world team.

I read into this poll that if you did not donate you where a scum bag. If we can not afford to donate then you are a scum bag. That is not the way to get support for our world team.

OK...

I might not go that far but if I were going to post this poll, I probably would also have worded it differently. Most of the heli pilots I know support the US team in spirit even if the don't help with funding. I also am rooting for the US F3A, F3B, etc teams but choose to financially support F3C as this is my primary interest.
I have friends on teams for other countries and hope they do well also.

Gordie, I worded that wrong and I changed it to say that everyone would donate to the world but some of them can not for one reason or the other. All the pilots here do support them in spirit.

Rockie,

If it my poll made you mad, then so be it. I did it to get people to really start looking at the team and get a rise out of people. If you can't spare a measly $10 then you need to get out of the hobby. In the case of the USA team $10 gets you a decal sheet and a raffle ticket. You could win some great items in the raffle. This is one raffle where the opertunity to win something is HIGH.

I'm just am NOT going to be politically correct on this one. This is something I believe in and I will not waiver from it.

To All,
Donate to your team and support the hobby! Sorry but I believe in what these guys are doing, and I want my team to beat the rest of the world. So I will do my part.

Support

OK, let me get this straight.

These are the top 1% of heli flyers that are employed in some sort by the Heli/Radio manufacturers. They receive a pay check to fly and promote products and get huge discounts or receive products for free as part of there employment or sponsorship. these same individuals are reimbursed for travel and lodging expenses when they attend events within the US and I bet even get a per diem for meals.

I will support them but not financially, and don't tell me if I cant afford $10.00 I should get out of the hobby. I support this hobby every day by buying and using r/c products, VOLKUL you say that you believe in what these guys are doing?

what are they doing and what will I benefit from them winning. The vast majority of r/c flyers could care less about competition and who has won any given contest. The only one who will benefit will be the manufactures when they advertise that there equipment has won a major competition and it is them that should foot the bill not us.

volkul your poll did not make me maid and yes I can afford the $10.00 and I will donate to the cause but all I was saying is that there is pilots in this hobby that do not care or can not afford the $10.00 for a sponsored pilot to go.

I can say that optikaman said it good.

I was looking for details of the Australian team too.

I did find who the chosen three were in a report on the Oz Nats held in early January, but that's all. I don't recall Mike Farnan being one of them.

Ahhh come on, no one forces them to fly for theie country - if they´re only in it for the money, fine by me...

But it wont be my money!
And they can be happy that tehey dont have to pay for their equipment by themself (oki they might do, but I hardly doubts it!!)
A friend is in the Swedish F3D team, and they arent getting anything "for free"!!!

Of course I will, if I can, support the Swedish F3C team, but not with money!

I kinda look at it like it's the olympics of our hobby. I guess everyone is entitled to do what they want with their money.

Kinda all about bragging rights...
