Anyone looking for a digital scale might want to check out this site.

It is a site where law enforcement sells confiscated items at a low price. Other items are available as well very cheap. A good digital scale can probably be bought as cheap as $20. Sure wish I knew about this site before I went out and bought a new one when I was getting in the hobby. I think the scales are under the listing office. When you go to the site click on the icon "go to auctions" and you will be there.

Scales

Just curious, what else do you need a scale for besides if you were to use it balancing rotors and such. I would think that you could just go out and buy a cheaper balance, the important thing is that the two masses are the same, not what they individually weigh. A simple balance is as accurate is it is frictionless, I woudl think.

I am a little hesitant and buying confiscated stuff. Maybe its cause I am obsessive compulsive or something, but I would feel weird using someone's possibly ex-cocaine scale. Just kidding.

Don't know why the link is not working for you. It still comes up for me. If you punch in a search for property bureau you will be able to find it. As for the confiscated stuff, there is a description of the condition that it is in and the reason that you would need the scale is to mainly balance the blades whether tail or main. I know that you know this David, I was just putting that in for the other reply.

The idea of using a scale is to find the heavy blade and add weight to the light blade. Example: Tail blade weighs 7 grams and other weighs 6.5grams. You need .5 grams to be equal to the other. Now, use a Koll rotor pro to tell you Where to put the .5 grams. That gives you identical spanwise and total weight of blades. Can't ask for anything more except Chord wise and I usually save it for Main blades. Yes, the Koll Rotor Pro does that too!!
