Anyone using gyros other than CSM gyros? I know they match better but they are too expensive.

If you can find other gyros which give you full access and adjustability to all the control loop parameters as you will need for proper setup, then go for it and try them out. The SL720 seems fairly priced when compared to their direct competitors (for tail use).

as a slightly cheaper option the CSM SL560 works well i'm currently running a pair in my raptor with good results

the big thing is programmability. the SL720's are fully capable of customizing every parameter, just about every other gyro on the market is not capable of this. I'm not sure about the 560's.
