Robbe Cuatro - Millennium - Nova - Dyna-X > Robbe Experiences 2007

We all know that the Robbe department is pretty 'quiet' on RR.
There are obviously several reasons for that, but in my case, I am happy to conclude that reliability is the cause.
I have now ended (it is pretty cold in Denmark now) my 3rd season with the Dyna X, and for the 3rd time the model has swallowed 45+ gallons of fuel without complaining. A worn out clutch assembly was replaced during spring, but since that repair, the model has simply performed soooo nice. Allowing me to focus on my pilot weakneses, instead of maintenance.
During spring I converted a stock Millinium to electric power. Also in this case I can conclude the model simply just swallows the power of a Actro 32-3. No weak spots were exposed by the model, instead the model killed the 5mm version of the Actro motor twice. Approximate number of flights is 55. Now I will try the 8mm shaft version (fortunately it is only 30euro to change shaft size).

What are your Robbe experiences this year?

Hi.

Millennium II is the best helicipter ever build. I have no maintenance on it. I had to replace engin becose it was vorn out after 150 hours (os 61 sx-h c) replaced with os91 sx-h c-spec.
I`m proud to have the best posible helicopter ever build.

Best regards, Roberto.

Sorry my english isn`t very good.

Hi,

What kind of flying will kill the 5mm version of the Actro motor. Is it extreme 3D that was the cause of this or is it during normal flight?

Based on analysis from the producer of Actro, the 5mm problem is caused by simply too high torque. The power of this motor surprises even the designer I used 13T pinion and 10S, and it is very probable that if you use 12S and 11T instead, the problem will not occur. It would be VERY premature to concluded that the 5mm shaft will always fail (simply too little statistics), but in my case it has been the weak spot. So, if you have had no problems so far, you are probably not going to get any. But if you are repairing the motor at some point change to 8mm (it is same repair price and Alex supplies pinions in both sizes).
Considerng todays flying standard I would say the model has been used for soft to medium 3D. See a flight here: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=n03nPY9EjQ8 This was one of the earlier flights, and I did push it further later on the season.
Even for harder 3D I am confident the E-Millinium has great potential. Right now a variant of the well known framestiffners is being made. Not only will it boost frame stiffness significantly, it will also enable push pull on pitch (Dyna X style) and raise CG alot. I will post pictures asap. If it works as well as I expect, it will be a 'must have' upgrade

I picked up a DynaX from a club-mate a couple of months ago. It came with V-Blades, 3 PDS2123 servos, regulator and an OS 91 SX-H motor with regultaor, pump, SZ carb and a viperhead. Ever since I got the heli, I've been feeling it out and trying to get used to the flight response since it is the first 90-sized machine I've ever flown.

After installing the rest of the electronics, I've just been flying it. Everything is solid and stable. The only issue I have right now is the leaning out thing and I am hoping that the CSM CarbSmart can sort that out instead of me getting an SZ motor. After 5-6 gallons, the heli is still stable as ever.

For some reason I do not understand, I felt that the SZ engine basicaly solved any leaning out tendencies (in spite the fact I use the version without pump). If you find a cheap SZ at some point, buy it. It is a very fine engine. Now I am installing a YS SR to try that out.

EDITED POST

SINCE this post was written

Rene` got the payment sorted out and payment was recieved in full for my Dyna-X and Robbe spares etc.

Merry xmas to you all

Brian

Hi Kim..I wish my final memories of my Dyna-X in 2007 are as good as yours.

A Danish Pilot called [I][B]Rene` Sunesen
decided to buy my Dyna-x complete with OS 91PS and all my Robbe spares + a used but complete unassembled Dyna-X conversion kit after viewing it at 3D Masters.

To keep a long story short we agreed a deal for £375 + carriage at cost..another £72 (an exceptionial deal for Rene` I might add).

Well Rene` has now had my Dyna-X + all the spares for over 1 month and has never honoured his part of the deal.

In fact he is now denying having anything to do with it..

Well untill now I have been proud to be associated with like minded pilots from all over the world but this has been a real shock to me that one Heli pilot can do this to another especially as we discussed the model in great detail.

The RC Heli hobby is comparatively small in your part of the world and Dyna-x's are not exactly common!. I do have details of Rene,s whereabouts etc. Unfortunately he leaves me with no other choice but to go to the police and pursue this matter.

If he has any sense I suggest you advise him strongly to put things right.

BTW the Dyna-x,Robbe's are underated IMHO

It is vital we pilots can buy/sell to each other without having to fear what you are experiencing now. As I consequence I allready on 10/10 emailed Rene to ask what was going on. I have had no reply, but I will see what else I can do to help you. Email me if you have any ideas.
Great deal I might add. The model is far more worth than that.

Thanks for trying to assist. Kim?

Reference your Dyna experiences. I spotted you are using the longer pitch levers in a earlier post. You can combine them with the Millie 3 upper levers you get a little more pitch/cyclic as well (The appear to be the same length as the RC market alloy ones)

If you fit the closed flybar cage you can change the flybar ratio also untill it is very agressive

kej..

just to let everyone know that Rene has now finally contacted me concerning payment.

When I have receipt and clearance of the money he owes me I will happily withdraw my accusations

I will keep you all informed if he stays true to his word and makes good the deal.

Many thanks to all who helped

I will get more air time on my newly built Bell ARH military bird with Futura SE mechanics and 60-90 size Funkey Long Ranger fuselage.

And I'm building a Robbe 500e with Futura SE mechs that with incorporate the four bladed head system.

It's not that the Robbe section is quite...it's just the BEST kept secret.

How high do they go? Are those things hard too fly? How much do they cost?

Just an update on the frame stiffners for the E-Millinium. They have not flown yet (work really takes too much nice flying time), but installation is done. Cannot wait to try it out on 12S

Happy new year!

Hey, I'm building a Robbe 500e with Futura SE mechs too. Small world isn't it.

Whoops, did I miss the 1/1/2008 deadline

Kej;
The pitch arms in your Electric Dyna look longer than mine. Does Alex sells those arms or you made them? If Alex sells them, please give me the part number and also how much pitch do you get with them.
