I crashed today while flying around a parking lot. Lost the Mains, tail blades, pitch slider, flybar, one paddle is chipped. It actually faired a lot better than expected. I expecting a mess when I walked over. It was kinda windy and it started to slide backwards on me. Plus there was some guy bothering me asking all sorts of questions. A crash kit will give me some extra parts for next time anyway. If anyone gets one of those co-pilots and tests it out let me know. Im very interested to see how they work.

Crash

I know how your feel. I hate it when you get fans hanging around. This happens when you are flying around people that are not in the hobby. They think it is easy to fly. My neighbor actually came over and asked me how can he get one for his 5 year old!

Helicool,

The worst thing that can happen is when someone sneaks up on you while your flying and you don't hear them as you are listening and watching your machine. Boy that will really scare the ---- out of ya and make you want to give them an earfull. But these people don't know any better and my suggestion to you is what I started doing. Tell the individual that you can either turn off your heli and answer their questions or they can stand back and quietly watch you fly. Tell them that you can't do both at the same time. They will understand as like I said, they don't know what it takes to fly a heli as well as the focus etc. Remember its your money up there, not theirs. If you crash they just get to watch and talk about it to their buddies. You get to order parts and rebuild without thri help ofcourse. Been there done that....

I will next time for sure!!!

Looks like it wasnt a very good weekend for any of us.

Im putting my money (whats left after the crash kit) into one of those co-pilot things. Im sure it will save my butt the next time I decide to be a cowboy and fly in the wind like that. As soon as I have it and test it I will report the tests.

Co-Pilot

I have a co-pilot, and used it for about 2 weeks. I now hardly every turn it on, but it's good to know its there. Saved my bacon a few times during my first attempts at forward flight.

I think that having it boosts your confidence enough to get out of your comfort zone, knowing that if you get in trouble, you can hit a switch and be saved...

I'm still on my 1st gallon of fuel, and can now hover tail and nose in, and fly smooth circuits around the field. No instructor, no buddy-box. Thanks goes to the co-pilot.

Regards,

Ben

What is this co-pilot thing and what does it do? Just curious as I have never heard of such a thing. Is is a joke? Did I miss something here? Anything that I can have that may help me save one I would like to have if it isn't to expensive ofcourse. What is it?
