Main Discussion > GY401 & JR 8103 radio = Piro rate???

Guys,

I need a bit of help, I'm trying to help a guy with a JR 8103 and GY401. We got it working ok. I just know it could be better. For instance the piro rate absolutly SUCKS. I know what to do in my Futaba, but when I went to do the same in the JR it was little effect.

Some one got a good bunch of settings for this combination? I could use them so I can get my friend flying nice.

Many thanks!

The limit setting is all the way out. How do you reduce the gain on a GY 401 in a JR 8103? I know how to do it through the radio on the Futaba.
I know the setting on the Gyro is ZERO.

depends on how you control the switching from N to HH.

I have it on the GEAR swtich so adjusting the ATV on the gear channel
alters the gyro gain for that mode.

If you have the mode switch running off of the flight mode, then you
should be jacked into Aux2 (?) and the gyro sens. screen on the 8103
will control it.

There is NO GAIN adj. on the 401 itself. Only 'DELAY' and 'LIMIT'.

Z11355,
You sound like you have this combination running on a radio. I could use all the help I can get on this. This is my second experence having to help with a JR setup. Unfortunately I remember nothing of the last time I had to do it.

Would it be to much trouble for some one to go through the aplicable screens and give me their settings? THis way I can get an idea what screens I should even be looking at.

Thanks

in my setup, I have:

the single yellow wire into the GEAR channel.

On the Tx:
(model setup section) AUX2: INH
GEAR: ACT

Then I have GEAR ATV @ 80 (both sides)
and rudder ATV @ 110 (both side)

On gyro, DELAY is zero and LIMIT is whatever in order to not bind.

401 isn't known to have a fast piro rate. My 501 spins a much fatser than a 401.

I have compared both gyros on Raptor 30s with same length servo arms, same tail blades, etc.

Try to get as much tail pitch as possible, set your rudder ATV (of whatever it is called on you JR) to the max and this is probably the best you can get.

I can get my 401 with my Futaba to be a blurrrr. Piro rate from hell if I want. But with the JR it's not as easy. None the less I am passing everything on to the Owner of the 8103 and he is going to try some changes.
