I bought the pro kit that comes without motor and esc, waiting to get it by mail soon.

Can you guys suggest me what I should buy for my new heli (motor, esc, batteries, bec if necessary, servos, tail servo, etc.)

I want a good set-up, not the best one but a set-up with a good value for the price. I will not do 3D for now, just want things that will do a good job (performance and time).

Thanks!!

their are many options out their now and if i were doing it again I would go for a Z-power motor probalby the Z20 I think 980kv, I am running the H18/11 ($69) and love it but It looks like the Zpower motors ($90) get a little longer flight time, but they also cost more, their is a Z30 and a Z20 both work well but their are i beleive about 4 variations of them (kv ratings) their are some real good posts on the other forum ( HF )on the Z power motors. I would also keep my eye on the sale forum for a Align 75a esc, you can easily grab them for $50 and a align bec.

as for the rest it really depends on your finances and what you currently have for chargers and etc. I would go for either the flight power evo 2500 3s packs or larger. Although I am now going to A123 cells, do to cost and durability etc.. flight time on the A123 is a down side of just over 4 min but i can charge them in 15 minutes and the cost is 1/2 the evo 2500's.
gyro the 401/9254 9254 works great

Thank you!

I am going to look at "Z" motors.

For the servos, what would you suggest? I know there is a lot of options, that is the problem! Just need a good old robust servos, but I am relatively new to RC so I do not really know where am going for that...

the DS821's seem to be a good choice for servos... when looking at the value factor of performance versus price.

They are constantly available in the "for sale" threads - as people get them included with thier DX7s - but are not using them and decide to sell.

There are some in there now:

that are priced at $65. You could probaly get them if you offered $60. I have seen them go for $15 to $20 apiece (new) in this forum... they sell for $29 at the hobby shop.
