Old Guy it was not the root it was the blade itself had dust, yes no wood core but termite dust in it. sad thing is i just ordered 4 sets of these blades and jon was the first one to use them. now i 2 sets of brand new blades that i will use for mixing sticks or fire starters. heliproz maverikk woodies, never again. actually that whole site has been sucking lately.

I cannot comment on "Termite dust" but from 1st pic it looks like the blade hase been riped out from between the doublers. If they were not bonded to the wood then it is not surprising that they pulld out. (if that was the case) Whatever happend it sure dose suck.
they were bonded but the one blade is actually broken in a straight line across the dust edge about 1/2" away from the plastic sleeve. the other blade slung off from just outside the bonded area (cracked lengthwise) most likely from the vibration.
one blade is solid other that was dusty we could crumple in our hands easily.
