e-Ikarus Piccolo-Eco 8/16 > what landing gear are you using for the eco 8?

the stock landing gear is so weak it finally broke on me after 10+ years of service.
but seriously, i though it was weak and flimsy anyway, and i always wanted to replace it with something else stonger all these years. i couldn't convince my self to replace it since the stock one hasn't break.
recently i install some skid dampeners found on the mini titan e325 and it grip onto the ground so hard, that one time i had the gyro on reverse while on the ground and the the tail whips to the right and snap both carbon main frame pieces and broke both the front and rear landing gear.
i had a spare maverik super landing gear for the raptor 50 helicopter, it doesn't look so bad but it is bulky and pretty heavy for the eco.

TREX 600 gear is a popular replacement, not drop in mind you, but simple

Isn't the trex 600 a 50 size helicopter. Then that mean i can use raptor 30 landing gear.

Innovation... But I've got the Stock skids right now

You might be surprised with what you can do to or with an ECO.
I plan to put together something CF

well, i went for it. right after i got the respond about the trex 600 landing gear i went to the hobby shop and got the raptor 30 landing gear and retrofit it onto the eco8 frame. i had to use some brass collars and cut some screws to size to get a perfect snug fit. i also had to cut the skids down a bit.
took a few hours to do, but i like it better than the stock landing gears. i finish it just now.

here are some pictures of it.

Bit late now but.....

I now use voyager e parts. Need a little work and some spacers to fit but the finished result is much stronger and more cheaper to replace than Ikarus parts

what kind of parts are you using from the voyager e helicopter?
i also have a few question about this as well.

does the voyager have the same main shaft diameter as the eco8. if it does then there could be a lot of retrofitting ideas.

does the voyager have the same tail boom diameter as the eco 8. if so, the tail can be retrofitted as well.

Tam,

Only the landing gear parts I'm afraid (sorry if I confused the issue).

Both the boom and mainshaft from the Voyager e have a larger diameter than the equivalent items from an Eco 8 and hence cannot be swapped

You can also use the Eco 16 landing gear which are much larger.
