This is the SPS turbine from England in frames which will take either a Cuattro or a Futura around it. It's reputed to make 7.5HP, pull 1800 rpm on 800 mm blades and lift over 30lb

My Cuattro should be here next week.

with 7.5HP in a 14lb heli, I will have trouble loading it up enough to stall the transmission system, but I'll try

Gear transmission???

Hi Peter,
I'm a big fan from your experiences in turbine helis, i1m curious how is the transmission in this SPS turbine?
It has a fan in the end of the turbine who transmit to the rotor or it's transmitted by gear reductions...
If you could please take a few more pictures of the transmission of this SPS turbine, i'll thank you a lot....

I has a LP turbine (Free Turbine) which drives the gearbox (90K +-)_ geared down to recip speed for the main reduction. I don't think it can "Stall" it because a free turbine max tourque is at zero RPM.
