I am thinking of buying a Benzin Trainer with the plan to eventually put it into a scale model.

Are there any advantages the benzin mechanics has over the Skyfox mechanics?

Benzin advantages over skyfox..


  1. Fuel Price.. Petrol is cheaper than Nitro fuel
  2. No oil mess to clean up after flight
  3. No smoke trail.. - good for running tail mounted servo and equipment
  4. Pull start.. no need to haul huge field support equipment - ie starter, nicad heater, fuel box
  5. Much more powerful engine. - can haul a large payload ie: video , camera equipment or other application
  6. Lots of gassers specialists here for support
  7. Easily slipped into a fuselage if wanted to.

Benzin/Skyfox

These two units are totally different. If you want to build a large scale and want to have the power with a 3,4,or 5 bladed head ,then there is only one way to go and that is with the gasser, however if you are looking for something a bit smaller with a different way of starting (from the bottom) then go the sky fox.
Both are very good systems, If I had a choise and knowing what the 230 motor will do, I would recommend the Benzin hands down.
